Seeing Pauline Warren’s insistence, Evelyn Clayton hesitantly agreed.

"What are you afraid of with around?" Pauline comforted with a playful smile, "Are you worried that I can’t handle sothing like this?"

Evelyn chuckled, "Of course not, just worried it might trouble you—"

"Don’t say that." Pauline feigned annoyance, "The main thing is, the shareholders’ eting is coming up, and you need to prepare well, right? Plus, Yara and Iris are here, and you haven’t had the chance to spend ti with them. Instead, they’ve been sticking around with you and Sharon. You should focus on handling the company’s matters for now, and then take them out for so fun. Leave the rest to !"

Evelyn smiled and joked, "So you’re saying I can relax a bit now?"

Pauline turned mock-serious, "But you can’t completely relax! You need to prepare well for the shareholders’ eting, got it?"

Evelyn suppressed her laughter, "Okay, okay, I got it."

In the afternoon, Evelyn made a trip to the company.

Recently, with Sharon in the hospital, Evelyn had been visiting the company intermittently, which even gave May so post-traumatic stress.

In the office, May was nervously venting.

"I thought you were leaving again. These past few days, Winnie Wyatt has been basking in smugness, thinking it’s her exceptional ability that pushed you away."

Evelyn chuckled lightly, "No, it’s purely personal. My daughter’s head got injured, and I’ve been at the hospital with her."

Hearing this, May paused, her expression stiffening.

After a long mont, May finally reacted, looking as if she had seen a ghost.

"You, your daughter..." May almost bit her tongue, "Wait, Evelyn, you’re married?!"

Evelyn laughed, "Nope, do you see a ring on my hand?"

"Then where did your daughter co from?" May was incredulous, "I’ve never heard you ntion it before!"

Evelyn explained calmly, "I didn’t ntion it before because it wasn’t necessary. No one’s asked , and I can’t just randomly drop into a conversation that I have a daughter, right?"

"True... but you’ve kept it really well!" May’s curiosity was eating her up, "But Evelyn, how do you have a child without being married?"

Saying this, May suddenly had an epiphany, "I get it, it’s the latest trend of having a kid without a father! Was it through IVF?"

Evelyn couldn’t possibly tell her the truth and just smiled, "Kind of."

"What do you an, ’kind of’? Was it IVF or not?" May was dying with curiosity.

Evelyn nodded vaguely, "Yes, yes it was."

May exclaid in awe, looking envious, "Evelyn, you’re so brave! Even though many people talk about doing it, how many actually have the guts to go through with it? But do your family know about this?"

"The child is with her grandparents now." Evelyn smiled, "Otherwise, when she was in the hospital recently, I wouldn’t have any ti to co to the company."

May nodded, "No wonder!"

Then, May laughed slyly, "So Evelyn, can I tell others about this?"

Evelyn shook her head with amusent, "Feel free. But don’t go broadcasting it everywhere. If it cos up in conversation, then fine, but don’t tell everyone you see."

"Don’t worry, don’t worry!"
