Upon hearing this, Jas Grant seed to travel back to that mont.

Even though it was just hearsay, he felt as if he were there, experiencing Evelyn Clayton’s imnse pain at that ti.

"Back then, the child was just five months old, and the doctor who administered the needle said that even a day’s delay might have cost the child’s life." Shane Sinclair said, extinguishing the cigarette, letting the ash and sparks silently fall to the ground.

Jas Grant’s heart ached, leaving him speechless.

Shane Sinclair looked at him leisurely, "I don’t deny that Sharon is your blood, but Jas Grant, if you have even a bit of care for Evelyn, you should stay away from her and the child. Evelyn allows you to see the child out of respect for Sharon, not because she has any lingering hope for you."

Jas Grant’s throat ached slightly, and his voice was hoarse, "I never intended to take Sharon away from her."

"But you said Sharon is your child." Shane Sinclair’s eyes flickered sharply, "Jas Grant, you and I are both n; I understand what you’re thinking, even if it’s subconscious—I hope you realize that until Evelyn fully forgives you, you are not worthy of being this father."

With that, Shane Sinclair turned and left.

Jas Grant stood in place, not noticing the cigarette in his fingers burning down.

Only when a slight burning pain reached his fingers did Jas Grant awaken from his daze.

He slowly returned to the hospital room door, through the window, he saw Evelyn Clayton sitting beside the bed feeding Sharon, while Pauline Warren was talking to Shane Sinclair, the warm sunlight streaming in made everything in the room seem so harmonious and warm.

They seed like a real family.

While he was nothing more than an outsider.

Jas Grant didn’t know how he walked out of the hospital; it was only when he vaguely realized he was at the entrance of the inpatient departnt.

Taking a deep breath, as Jas Grant was about to leave, a voice called out from behind—

"Jas Grant."

Jas Grant’s throat tightened, and he turned around.

He saw that Evelyn Clayton had followed him out at so point.

Evelyn Clayton’s expression was uncharacteristically hesitant, "Are you, okay?"

Jas Grant pulled at his lips, speaking softly, "I’m fine. It seems inconvenient today, so I’ll leave now. I’ll co back another day to see Sharon."

Evelyn Clayton was too familiar with Jas Grant’s forced smile; because she rarely saw him with such an expression, she could always precisely capture it every ti.

"Did Shane Sinclair tell you how I gave birth to Sharon back then?"

Evelyn Clayton knew too well what Shane would say.

Seeing Jas Grant’s eyes montarily redden, Evelyn sighed softly in her heart.

She said slowly, "You really don’t need to feel guilty or bla yourself; these things have nothing to do with you. I chose to have this child, not because of you, so you don’t have to think I suffered any hardship; all of that was my choice gladly."

In Evelyn Clayton’s view, whether or not to have Sharon was her right.

Having exercised that right, she naturally had to bear certain obligations.

But listening to these words, Jas Grant felt even more sorrowful.

He would have rather Evelyn blad him.

Jas Grant was almost unable to stand comfortably.

He hastily said goodbye, "I have sothing else to attend to, I’ll go first."

Watching Jas Grant’s nearly fleeing back, Evelyn Clayton frowned slightly.

But she also knew what Jas Grant was thinking.

He would rather be blad than maintain the current indifferent relationship.
