Evelyn Clayton expressed her thoughts, and Iris Lockwood frowned upon hearing them.
"Why say that? You’re so smart, how could you be led by her?"
Evelyn Clayton sighed, "This has nothing to do with being smart. Besides, Yvette Warren is not a foolish person, and given her background, if she doesn’t want to use one day, that would be a matter of minutes."
Yara Reagan, being cautious, said, "I think we should take it slow and avoid the risk of dealing with a tiger. Who knows how much of Yvette Warren’s words are true or false? Are we going to verify everything she says? Her interests are deeply tied with Arthur Chandler, how can there be a clean break easily?"
Iris Lockwood, on the other hand, pondered, "I don’t think it’s as risky as dealing with a tiger. We could ask Aunt Pauline about Yvette Warren’s relationship with Arthur Chandler, she probably knows quite a bit, right?"
This gave Evelyn Clayton a direction.
The things she heard today were too shocking, and her mind couldn’t process them.
"Iris finally got smart for once," Yara Reagan teased.
"Co on, I’ve never been stupid, alright!" Iris Lockwood huffed, "Don’t underestimate ."
Evelyn Clayton nodded, "I’ll ask when I get back, and then consider it. Anyway, for now, it seems she has no ill will, so I guess she can still be trusted."
Just then, there was a noise outside the hospital room.
They went out to see that Jas Grant had arrived.
Quentin Hale was following behind him.
Quentin Hale was carrying a lot of al boxes, seemingly for several people, and he was sweating from the effort.
Evelyn Clayton ca out and instinctively said, "Why did you bring so much?"
Quentin, who hadn’t even caught his breath, looked up upon hearing this, his eyes filled with a complex mix of emotions.
There was understanding, and a hint of confusion.
Evelyn Clayton paused for a mont, but then realized that this was the first ti Quentin Hale had seen her in five years, which made sense.
"Uncle Grant!"
Sharon was lying in bed, smiling sweetly, her eyes following Jas Grant around.
Hearing the "Uncle Grant," Quentin Hale felt an unexpected embarrassnt on behalf of his boss, and after setting down the al boxes, he quietly left.
Jas Grant seed quite accustod to it.
He placed the dishes, and only then did Evelyn Clayton notice that he had not only brought what Sharon liked but also what she liked.
He even prepared als for Yara Reagan and Iris Lockwood.
Yara Reagan and Iris Lockwood glanced at theirs; though not following their preferences, the al packs looked upscale and expensive.
They exchanged a look, then glanced at Jas Grant.
Both Yara Reagan and Iris Lockwood understood clearly that he was trying to win them over.
Evelyn Clayton saw the dishes and then turned to et Jas Grant’s slightly smiling eyes, and she understood.
She pressed her lips together, glanced at Sharon.
"Sharon, be good, you eat with Daddy, Mommy, Auntie, and Little Auntie have to go out for a bit, okay?"
Sharon let out an "ah," clearly puzzled, "What’s Mommy going to do?"
"Mommy has work to do, and Auntie and Little Auntie are going to help." Evelyn Clayton smiled warmly, pinching Sharon’s cheek, "You eat with Daddy today, alright?"
In Sharon’s eyes, Evelyn Clayton would never lie to her, so she quickly believed and nodded obediently.
Yara Reagan and Iris Lockwood reacted quickly too, saying their goodbyes to Sharon.
Only Jas Grant showed a hint of helplessness in his eyes.
He caught up with Evelyn Clayton, stopping her at the door by grasping her wrist.
His voice was low, almost with a hint of panic, as he asked, "Did I do sothing wrong?"
"No," Evelyn Clayton replied calmly, "But, Director Grant, you and I, really are not at the point where we can comfortably share a al together."
