"Alright."
Jas Grant finally spoke, "You guys don’t need to argue anymore. Redo the budget; it can be slightly increased."
With the CEO speaking, what else could the financial director say?
"Yes."
After the financial director left, Evelyn Clayton wanted to thank him, but he said, "The budget increase doesn’t co for free. You need to get the logo design done soon."
"...Almost done." Evelyn’s tone weakened as she averted her gaze, "Designing isn’t like eating, it requires inspiration, okay!"
"I’ve helped you twice, and you have no token of appreciation?" Jas leaned back in his chair, speaking casually.
Evelyn swallowed her thanks again.
"You’re a company president, asking for a thank-you gift at every turn—can’t you have a little bit of dignity?"
Jas didn’t answer, just raised an eyebrow and looked at her.
In the end, Evelyn gave in, stood up, and said, "Let’s go."
"Where to?"
"To buy you a thank-you gift."
There’s a jewelry store not far from the company entrance.
As soon as Evelyn walked in, a salesperson approached her.
"Hello, miss, what would you like to see?"
"Just browsing."
She said she was just browsing, and she really wandered aimlessly among the counters.
Jas walked in afterward, and the salesperson imdiately understood.
"Miss, are you planning to buy a gift for your boyfriend? We have a pair of new cufflinks here, they’re limited edition."
"Let see them."
Evelyn didn’t have an obsession with limited editions.
But she thought, a playboy like Jas would probably like limited edition items.
"Please follow ." The salesperson guided Evelyn to the counter, found a pair of exquisite cufflinks, and handed them to her, "Look, the color and design of this set are top-notch."
"A bit tacky." Evelyn wasn’t satisfied.
Soon, she was attracted by a pair of delicate green cufflinks in the glass case.
"Can you show these?"
"Of course." The salesperson took out the cufflinks, "But miss, this pair has already been reserved and is not for sale."
"No problem."
"You see, the diamonds here are all crafted with a three-side cut, and the tal parts are embedded using the latest techniques. Don’t they look particularly shiny?"
Picking up the cufflinks, Evelyn compared them against Jas’s outfit, and they did look quite fitting for him.
"Hmm. If I order this set now, how much longer will it take?"
"It would take about five months."
Evelyn was surprised: "That long? Are you starting from mining?"
Jas couldn’t help but laugh.
The salesperson awkwardly smiled, "Miss, these cufflinks are custom-made, and we also invite Italian craftsn to make them specially. So the cycle is relatively longer, please understand."
Evelyn hesitated.
This waiting period was too long, but they were really beautiful.
As she hesitated, a cool female voice suddenly sounded behind them.
"Do you want them? I can let you have them."
They both turned around simultaneously.
Evelyn recognized the girl who had spoken up for her at the last charity gala.
Olivia Calder stepped in front of Evelyn and smiled slightly, "Do you like these cufflinks? Then you should have them."
"How can that be?" Evelyn put the cufflinks back on the tray, "Everything has its order. Since you reserved them, they are yours."
"I can wait for the next pair." Olivia shifted her gaze to Jas, "What do you think, Mr. Grant?"
Olivia and Jas weren’t particularly familiar; they had only spoken a few words at the banquet.
But since childhood, they’d mingled in the sa circles, and were sowhat familiar with each other’s backgrounds, including the situation between Jas, Evelyn, and Amber Whitman.
Although Olivia disliked Amber, she had a good impression of Evelyn.
If it bothered Amber, Olivia was all for it.
