Yara Reagan was montarily stunned and, when she ca to her senses, quickly closed the box too.

"Auntie, you’re being too generous." Yara smiled awkwardly, "This bracelet is so precious, we can’t accept it."

Pauline Warren imdiately chided, "Are you being polite with ? Don’t be! This was prepared especially for the two of you..."

As she spoke, nostalgia flickered in Pauline’s eyes, and her voice turned choked, "Actually, these were all things I bought occasionally after Aaron passed away, thinking to gift them to my daughter, but I no longer have a daughter."

Her voice grew more and more choked, "Evelyn, I know, asking you to be our foster daughter is truly a grievance for you. But I just, I just miss Aaron so much... I only hope I can make up for it in other ways."

Pauline’s tears fell down.

Seeing this, Evelyn Clayton and Yara Reagan could no longer refuse.

Pauline was overjoyed to see the two accept it.

She didn’t stay long, giving the two enough space, "You two rest first, if you’re hungry, press the call button by the door, soone will bring you food. Later, we’ll have a family dinner!"

After seeing Pauline out, Evelyn Clayton and Yara Reagan returned inside the house, looking at each other.

After staring at each other for a while, Yara couldn’t hold it anymore and spoke with indescribable feelings, "I finally understand what they an by the joys of the rich; I can’t even imagine it."

Evelyn was amused, shaking her head with a smile, "Mrs. Warren is too kind."

"Why call her Mrs. Warren, with these two bracelets, you might as well call her mom." Yara teased, then let out a long sigh and collapsed onto the sofa like a boneless creature.

She aimlessly stared at the ceiling, mumbling, "Mrs. Warren is really careful, the way she cares for , isn’t it just because she’s afraid you might suddenly run away with , so she thinks keeping here will make sure you stay too."

Evelyn wandered around the room, responding to the words, "Mrs. Warren’s ntal state is indeed poor."

"It’s more than just poor, isn’t it?" Yara couldn’t help but retort, "I feel like she’s... schizophrenic, don’t you think?"

Yara asked several tis, but Evelyn didn’t respond, prompting Yara to turn back and look.

After looking around the house, Yara found Evelyn’s silhouette.

She was in the study on the first floor, holding a picture fra from the bookshelf, staring at it intently.

Yara leaned over to look, "What is it—"

Her words stopped abruptly the mont she saw the picture fra in Evelyn’s hands, her pupils widened in shock.

In the photo inside the fra, there was a young girl of about fifteen or sixteen, youthful and beautiful, smiling radiantly at the cara.

The photo was sowhat blurry, appearing to be a bit old, yet the face still filled Yara’s eyes with disbelief.

She looked at the fra, then at Evelyn, and t Evelyn’s equally shocked eyes.

Because the young girl in the fra looked exactly the sa as Evelyn did in her childhood!

"Oh my god..." Yara could barely find words, "Is this Aaron Sinclair?"

Saying this, she took the fra and looked at the back.

Sure enough, written on it were the words "The loveliest Ann Ann."

"So it really is Aaron Sinclair..." Yara showed the words to Evelyn, in awe, "I thought when Mrs. Warren said you looked alike, it was just a resemblance—this isn’t just a resemblance, it’s an exact likeness, isn’t it?!"

Evelyn was also filled with mixed emotions.

No wonder Pauline Warren was so persistent about having her stay.

If her own child had died young, and after many years she t soone who looked almost identical, she too might lose her mind and just want to keep the person by her side.
