It seed impossible to co up with a conclusion, so Evelyn Clayton didn’t dwell on it any further.

The most important thing right now wasn’t that.

After consoling Old Wang for a few words, Evelyn Clayton sent him out.

As it was nearing the afternoon working hours, employees arrived one after another.

Evelyn Clayton was so busy the whole morning, she finally had the chance to return to the municipal hospital.

Fortunately, Elias Sherman was still in the inpatient departnt, and when Evelyn Clayton arrived, he was conversing with a young girl dressed as a caregiver.

"Mr. Sherman—"

Evelyn Clayton approached and greeted him, saying a bit apologetically, "Sorry, sothing ca up at the company temporarily, and I’ve been busy until now. I had Officer Owens pass on the ssage. Did you receive it?"

"Master ntioned it to ." Elias Sherman flashed a reassuring smile, "It’s alright, anyway, my daily task now is just watching over Lily Warren; I have plenty of ti."

Evelyn Clayton smiled awkwardly, and Elias Sherman introduced the young caregiver girl, "This is Xiao Zhou, the caregiver for Lily Warren. You can ask her about anything concerning Lily Warren’s condition."

Xiao Zhou greeted Evelyn Clayton straightforwardly, her smile sweet and clear.

Evelyn Clayton exchanged contact information with both of them, and after a few words of courtesy, Xiao Zhou left.

Elias Sherman couldn’t help but ask curiously, "Is there anything wrong at Miss Clayton’s company that needs my help?"

"Just so trivial matters."

Evelyn Clayton’s smile showed a hint of fatigue, "I’m not sure if you’ve seen the news lately, but a forr employee of our company committed suicide by jumping off our company building, causing quite a stir. Today, the employee’s parents ca to demand compensation, which caused the delay."

Elias Sherman imdiately turned serious, "Did you call the police? In such a situation, it’s extortion!"

"I did, they’ve been taken away." Evelyn Clayton said, unable to resist asking, "I have evidence of her extortion, can it lead to a prison sentence for her?"

Felicia Preston outside, for Evelyn, seed like a rotten stink bomb.

Though not extrely harmful, you never knew when it would co out and disgust you.

Elias Sherman pondered for a mont, "Hard to say. It depends on what your evidence is. If there’s clear extortion content in her words, then it’s a clear-cut case, but if it’s vague, then it’s uncertain."

These words reminded Evelyn Clayton, her eyes flickered, and she was montarily speechless.

If that’s the case, if she sues Felicia Preston, perhaps it could draw out the person behind her...

After all, Felicia Preston was such a useful pawn, the person behind her surely wouldn’t be willing to let go.

Thinking of this, Evelyn Clayton’s gaze grew increasingly bright.

"Thanks for the reminder!"

Saying this, Evelyn Clayton suppressed her excitent, looking through the window at Lily Warren, "Did she wake up this morning?"

"She woke up once." Elias Sherman’s voice was a bit low, "Still the sa, unwilling to speak with anyone, eating only a little, and vomiting most of it."

Evelyn Clayton pressed her lips together slightly, staring at Lily Warren.

A mont later, the person on the hospital bed suddenly moved.

In the next second, Lily Warren’s eyes slowly opened.

She stared blankly at the ceiling with empty eyes, lying there dazed for a while, and then slowly sat up.

Elias Sherman was also a bit surprised, "Awake?"

For so reason, Evelyn Clayton felt a bit uneasy, "Can I go in and talk to her now?"
