After finishing her words, Yara Reagan turned around and strode away.
At that mont, only the employees from the public relations departnt had arrived at the company early. They faintly sensed sothing was amiss outside but dared not comnt. Occasionally, a couple of them sneaked glances, but quickly looked away upon seeing Evelyn Clayton’s expression.
When Rhys Jacobs ca back, he saw Evelyn Clayton standing there with a sowhat desolate expression.
He paused slightly, hesitated, and then approached lightly, saying, "The people have been settled, Director Clayton, what next instructions do you have?"
Evelyn Clayton closed her eyes and exhaled, her voice slightly hoarse, "Are the dia still outside?"
"Most have left, only a few persistent ones are still hanging around downstairs," Rhys said as his phone dinged with a notification.
He instinctively picked it up to check, and his expression subtly changed upon seeing the new ssage.
After reading the ssage, Rhys cautiously looked at Evelyn Clayton.
Evelyn t his gaze and said calmly, "What’s the matter?"
"Just now, Director Reagan sent a ssage saying she won’t be coming to the company for the next month and asked that if there’s any work needed from her, I should rember to send it to her promptly..."
Rhys was bewildered and puzzled, "Director Clayton, what happened to Director Reagan?"
Evelyn Clayton’s throat felt incredibly dry, as if a crack had ford. It took her a long ti to find her voice again.
"She’s... going on vacation," Evelyn said softly, then instructed, "Tonight, watch over the public relations departnt to ensure they handle the PR content properly. I need to step out for a while. Also, rember to contact the Ye Group, talk with them to see what they have planned. If anything cos up, send a ssage."
After saying that, Evelyn Clayton turned around and went into her office.
Rhys didn’t even have ti to say ’okay’ before Evelyn closed the door, looking like she did not want much interaction with anyone.
Seeing this, Rhys felt a bit uneasy inside.
The company was currently full of internal and external troubles, and now the two founders seed to be at odds?
Rhys wanted to call Yara, however, it seed she had already switched to vacation mode, as her phone was constantly turned off.
Back in her office, Evelyn Clayton seed to have drained all her strength, sitting behind the desk without moving for a long ti.
Thinking back to the look in Yara’s eyes when she left, Evelyn felt the void in her heart growing larger, the scar gaping and ready to devour everything she held dear.
It was unclear how much ti had passed, but Evelyn gradually cald down.
She checked the ti on her phone and then sent a ssage to Franklin Ford, moving their eting up to an earlier ti.
Having set the eting location, just as she prepared to get up, Jas Grant called.
Evelyn’s gaze shifted slightly. After contemplating for a mont, she took the call.
"I heard sothing happened over there," Jas’s voice was heavy. "I’ve been in etings all morning, I just found out, that reporters went to Gem’s entrance?"
Evelyn softly responded, "Mm, but I’ve handled it now, everything’s fine, no need to worry."
Jas let out a sigh of relief but was still sowhat fearful, "You’ve had accidents because of online public opinion quite a few tis... I’m afraid, afraid for and you—"
Evelyn keenly perceived the underlying implication in Jas’s words.
He understood well that their romantic relationship was a ticking ti bomb.
It’s just a matter of when and how it might explode, still within a range they can manage.
Evelyn’s brows twitched slightly.
"Don’t worry, we’ll be fine," Evelyn said, lowering her eyelids to cover the dimness in her eyes, "Once the ti is right, I’ll go back with you to et your father, how about that?"
