Heather Donovan’s face turned pale.

"Over there, for you—" Heather Donovan’s face looked ghastly, as if she were searching for the right word in her mind; after a long while, she spoke obscurely: "Did he... say anything else?"

Sumr Monroe’s eyes carried sarcasm, "He said it’s a crucial ti for him right now, and we shouldn’t interfere. Also, he’ll be coming over in a few days."

The tension on Heather Donovan’s face was almost tangible, and she instinctively asked anxiously, "Why is he coming?!"

"He probably has so official business. He ntioned he would see Harrison Grant, and then arrange for Mr. Tian to co to take us to et him," Sumr said, her tone gradually softening.

Heather Donovan’s eyes were full of complexity; after a long ti, she softly asked, "Ayao, do you not want to see him?"

Sumr let out a light scoff, "Without him, could the two of us have made it this far? Of course, I want to see him."

"Right, after all, he is your—" Heather Donovan abruptly stopped and switched topics, "So Julia Lawrence is really dead? Has Soren Foster gone mad?"

Sumr’s brows showed distress, "I don’t know, right now we need to find Soren and get clarity, then send him to Evelyn Clayton! Soren... can’t stay."

Heather Donovan didn’t react particularly strongly, "Can you bear it? Soren is quite obedient."

"He is obedient, but they have already spoken, who can keep him?" Sumr’s face tightened, "Tell Matthew Sullivan, find a way to bring Soren back to !"

Seeing Sumr’s agitated look, Heather Donovan dared not say much more; she could only offer reassurances, "I’ll talk to Matthew Sullivan, Ayao, your heart has never been well, you should rest early."

Sumr took a deep breath, and when she reopened her eyes, they seed a bit unfocused.

Heather Donovan found her expression peculiar, "What’s wrong, Ayao?"

"Nothing... just feels ridiculous." Sumr said indistinctly and sneered, "Feels like I’m a joke."

Heather Donovan wanted to say more, but Sumr already stood up and headed upstairs.

Standing there, Heather Donovan watched Sumr’s back worriedly until she disappeared.

She walked to the balcony, pondered for a long while, then took out her phone and dialed that number.

It took a long ti for the call to be answered.

The male voice on the other end was cold and slightly hoarse, authoritative without anger, and emotionless.

"Heather?" The man’s light chuckle still sent a chill down her spine, "Sumr is ho?"

Heather Donovan hugged her arms, replied with a restrained ’mm-hmm’, "You called her, didn’t you?"

The man sounded indifferent, "Do you have sothing to say?"

Whatever Heather Donovan thought of, a deep fatigue and struggle crossed her eyes, "You promised ... when will you let Sumr acknowledge her roots and ancestors?"

There was silence for a long, long ti on the other end.

"Haven’t we discussed this?" The man’s voice had no discernible emotion, "When the ti is right, I will naturally have her acknowledge her roots and ancestors."

Heather Donovan’s emotions beca sowhat agitated, "You always say that! When is the right ti?"

In stark contrast to her, the man’s words sounded indifferent: "Are you questioning ?"

"No..." Heather Donovan’s eyes were bloodshot; after a while, she closed her eyes and pinched her brow, "I just want to remind you, Sumr, she, after all—"

Heather Donovan’s lips trembled; her scarlet eyes made her appear sowhat terrifying.

She held back to the extre, finally speaking in a hoarse voice.

"She, after all, is your only daughter."
