When the lunchbox was opened, there was stir-fried spinach, corn with shrimp, braised pork, and Evelyn Clayton’s favorite potato stew with chicken.

They were all homade dishes, but prepared delicately and tasted just right in temperature.

Jas Grant rolled up his sleeves to serve soup for Evelyn Clayton, who watched his every move intently, feeling as if there was a knife slicing through her heart.

She had never seen Jas Grant like this before, patient, gentle, and full of cherishnt toward her.

"West Lake beef soup, your favorite." Jas Grant placed the soup bowl in front of Evelyn Clayton, his long eyes slightly curved, full of smiles.

Evelyn Clayton didn’t move for a mont, slowly dealing with the unspeakable oppression and heaviness in her heart, her fingers slightly trembling in her palm.

Jas Grant finally noticed Evelyn Clayton’s unease, his smile paused, "What’s wrong?"

"It’s nothing." Evelyn Clayton’s lips parted slightly, "When you ca, did you make sure no one followed you?"

Jas Grant chuckled, "Afraid our underground romance will be discovered?"

He gently rubbed the top of Evelyn Clayton’s head, "No worries, I was careful, no one followed ."

Evelyn Clayton picked up the bowl and sipped the beef soup slowly.

She gradually cald herself down, making sure she appeared as if nothing was wrong.

After finishing a bowl of soup, while eating, Evelyn Clayton casually ntioned, "The day after tomorrow is the launch of Gem’s new clothes, and afterward, I might need your help with sothing."

Jas Grant was more than eager to have Evelyn Clayton ask for his help, he replied warmly, "What is it? Tell ."

Evelyn Clayton chewed slowly, preparing herself ntally, "Do you rember the driver who helped John Jacobs kidnap before?"

Not expecting Evelyn Clayton to bring this up, Jas Grant was slightly startled but then nodded, "I rember."

"That driver actually didn’t really want to kidnap ; he was forced into it. If it wasn’t for him, I might not have been able to break free from the ropes. His montary good intention gave a chance..."

Evelyn Clayton put down her chopsticks and looked at Jas Grant intently, "He told at that ti he had a wife bedridden with cancer, so he needed money for dical treatnt, which is why he was coerced into being involved with John Jacobs. I promised him I would take care of his wife."

Jas Grant frowned subconsciously, "You take care of her? But he didn’t really save you. Even without the fire, he might not have let you go."

"I know. But he’s very pitiful, and I promised him, so I want to help him if I can." Evelyn Clayton slightly raised her eyebrows, "Actually, you don’t have to do much. I want to transfer his wife to a hospital here with better privacy. Do you know of any such hospitals?"

Jas Grant’s expression was full of disagreent, but due to Evelyn Clayton’s firmness, he hesitated without speaking out.

"I hope you can understand ." Evelyn Clayton said seriously, "Don’t refuse , and don’t tell anyone about this, okay?"

With those words, Jas Grant seed a bit compromised.

"Okay." Jas Grant seed a bit resigned, "How could I refuse you?"

Evelyn Clayton pressed her lips into a smile, leaning in to plant a kiss on Jas Grant’s lips.

Jas Grant’s eyes darkened slightly, capturing her by the back of her head and kissing her deeply.

In the closeness of their lips and teeth, Evelyn Clayton slightly opened her eyes, watching Jas Grant seemingly lost in the mont, her long lashes fluttering, feeling indescribably complex.

As expected, as soon as they finished their al, Yara Reagan arrived.

It seed she learned about Jas Grant’s arrival on her way, bursting into the lounge as soon as she entered the company.

"What are you doing?" Yara Reagan, guarding like a thief, dragged Evelyn Clayton over and glared at Jas Grant, "You feel uneasy if you don’t see each other for a day?"

Jas Grant leisurely admitted, "Yes, I do feel uneasy."

Yara Reagan sneered, "Then don’t bla for breaking you apart. Director Grant, have you finished eating? If you’re done, you can leave now."

Being blocked from seeing his girlfriend twice in a row, even the most good-tempered person couldn’t hold it in, not to ntion Jas Grant wasn’t that temperate.

He slightly darkened his face, holding back and holding back, glanced at Evelyn Clayton and swallowed his words, blinking slightly.

"Alright, I was just worried she wouldn’t eat well at noon, nothing else."

When he said this, his tone was lightly sighing, as if he had endured so grievance, hiding it in his eyes, gazing deeply and tenderly at Evelyn Clayton.

Yara Reagan was stunned, then burst into anger, "Who are you trying to act innocent for?!"

"Alright, Yara." Evelyn Clayton chuckled, soothing Yara Reagan, "Jas, you should go back first; I’ll co to see you after I’m done here."

Jas Grant raised an eyebrow and glanced at Yara Reagan, his eyes not without a hint of triumph.

Yara Reagan was both angry and amused, almost breaking into laughter.

Quentin Hale had co over unnoticed, looking on expectantly from the doorway, and seeing this, Jas Grant knew it was ti to leave.

"I’ll be off then." Jas Grant ca to Evelyn Clayton’s side, held her hand and gently rubbed it, "Rember to co find ."

Evelyn Clayton’s smile widened slightly, nodding her head.

Yara Reagan still glared angrily at Jas Grant, who pretended not to see, asking Quentin Hale to carry the lunchbox as they left.

"If Rhys Jacobs hadn’t told , would he have stayed longer in your office lounge?" Yara Reagan complained, glaring at Evelyn Clayton like she was hopeless, "Can’t you show a bit more spine?"

Evelyn Clayton couldn’t help but laugh, "When have I ever lacked spine?"

Yara Reagan glared at her for a while, finally giving in, "Forget it, I understand. Just getting together, being inseparable is unavoidable... But don’t forget about business! The day after tomorrow is the launch!"

"Don’t worry, when have I ever forgotten about business?" Evelyn Clayton reassured her, and Yara Reagan’s anger finally subsided a bit.

On the other side, Jas Grant got into the car and asked Quentin Hale along the way, "Is there anything happening at the company?"

Quentin Hale looked serious, "It’s not about the company, Director Grant. You had soone follow Julia Lawrence, but she went missing this morning."

Jas Grant’s brows knitted tightly, "What’s going on?"

"The person watching near Julia Lawrence’s house just reported that she visited the welfare ho she used to stay at this morning and didn’t co back out. Our people checked the welfare ho, and she’s not inside. Most likely she sneaked out from so unknown exit..."

Jas Grant’s expression darkened slightly, closing his eyes to pinch his brow, "Find a way to locate her."

When he opened his eyes again, a dark shade flashed in Jas Grant’s gaze.

Even though Evelyn Clayton could let Julia Lawrence go, it didn’t an he could.

Moreover, regarding Soren Foster’s matters, Julia Lawrence surely knew quite a bit...

If he could learn sothing from Julia Lawrence, it would greatly aid in taking down Sumr Monroe.

Now that Julia Lawrence had fled... Jas Grant had a feeling that sothing was bound to happen.

"Find a way to probe Soren Foster’s side and see if there’s any result."
