"Speak up, you—"

Yara Reagan had only spoken halfway when her gaze swept over that spot, instantly silencing her.

She saw Jas Grant walking alongside Lynn Yates, the distance between them neither too close nor too far. At first glance, they looked like a respectful couple, out shopping for gifts to et the elders together.

Evelyn Clayton stood there, stunned for a long ti. She saw Lynn Yates turn her head to say sothing to Jas Grant, and Jas leaned down with gentleman-like courtesy to listen. Their figures intertwined, a handso man and a beautiful woman, seemingly a perfect match.

"Damn..." Yara gritted her teeth, "Wasn’t Jas Grant following you around before? I always thought he was just weighing the pros and cons, temporarily—turns out this asshole wants to have his cake and eat it too!"

Upon hearing this, Evelyn Clayton’s brow furrowed slightly as she said mildly, "Don’t speak nonsense."

She turned and entered the vintage pocket watch shop, leaving Yara to follow in vexation, "Damn Jas Grant, two-faced bastard!"

"They’re just shopping together, buying things. What does it really an?"

Evelyn Clayton wandered slowly inside the store, her tone without any notable rise or fall, as if she truly didn’t care about the previous scene.

But Yara knew Evelyn too well. The calr Evelyn appeared, the less calm she actually was.

Evelyn’s facade was far from flawless.

"Evelyn, maybe you shouldn’t go. Listen to ," Yara sighed repeatedly. "I really don’t understand why you have to go. Is it just because Jas Grant gave you an invitation?"

Evelyn Clayton paused in front of a pocket watch, carefully examining it, her tone seemingly casual: "When Jas Grant handed the invitation, he said if Gem could collaborate with Harrison Grant’s side, it would be a good thing. There’s nothing wrong with that statent; I have no reason to refuse."

"Besides, Jas might have big plans this ti when he goes back, and I’m indeed curious about what he intends to do."

After saying this, Evelyn Clayton called a service staff, inquiring about the price of the pocket watch she had her eye on.

The pocket watch was finely crafted and reasonably priced, so Evelyn Clayton didn’t shop further. She purchased it and casually hooked Yara’s arm, "Let’s go."

They both tacitly didn’t ntion Jas Grant and Lynn Yates whom they had seen earlier. Yara didn’t want Evelyn to be upset, while Evelyn remained nonchalant, deep in thought.

However, the world is unpredictable.

Just as they were standing by the elevator for a mont, a slightly surprised voice from Lynn Yates sounded behind them.

"Evelyn, Yara?"

Evelyn Clayton turned around after Yara, only to see Lynn Yates alone, inevitably taken aback for a mont.

Yara’s eyes also flashed with confusion.

"Director Yates, what a coincidence," Yara took the initiative to speak, chuckling twice, "What, you’re alone?"

Lynn Yates paused montarily, then smiled, "You could say that. I’m here to pick a gift for Director Grant. What about you two?"

Evelyn Clayton smiled, "We’re doing the sa."

"Since we’ve t by chance, why don’t we have a al together?" Lynn Yates suggested courteously.

Yara wavered, unsure about rejecting people.

However, Evelyn Clayton was straightforward.

She smiled with polite courtesy, revealing no flaws.

"A al isn’t necessary; we’ve been extrely busy these days. Yara and I want to go ho and rest. After the new collection launch, we’ll invite you to dinner."

Of course, Lynn Yates couldn’t insist.

At that mont, both elevator doors opened simultaneously.

As if by mutual understanding, the two groups entered separate elevators and parted ways.
