The banquet was nearing its end, and as evening approached, Evelyn Clayton didn’t see Jas Grant again.

As if he rembered her words from the last ti and deliberately avoided appearing in front of her, Jas arrived silently and left quietly.

That night, Evelyn Clayton and Yara Reagan had a family dinner with the Ford Family, and both got a little tipsy, so Violet Ford arranged for them to stay in the Ford Family’s ancestral house.

Evelyn naturally refused, and Yara felt even more embarrassed about it.

"No need to be polite with , staying one night is nothing, this way everyone outside will know that our relationship is special." Violet said with a smile, jokingly, "If one of you ends up as my sister-in-law in the future, then we’d really be family."

Yara was sipping the honey water brought by the Ford Family’s servant and nearly choked upon hearing this.

Evelyn was also shocked internally but maintained her composure on the surface, aiding Yara by getting her a napkin and patting her back.

Just then, Franklin Ford ca over with so helplessness in his voice, "Sis, don’t joke around randomly."

Violet laughed in response and then instructed a servant to take Evelyn and Yara to their rooms to rest.

In a thoughtful gesture, Violet arranged their rooms in a standalone building next to the main house. The place had two floors, said to be specifically for hosting guests at the Ford Family ancestral ho, peaceful but not cold, preventing Evelyn and Yara from feeling awkward.

Two servants stayed downstairs, even arranging to make sweet soup for the guests.

The sweet soup was brought to their room, and Yara carried it to find Evelyn.

Evelyn had just finished her own bowl.

"Help drink it," Yara pouted pitifully, "You know I don’t like sweet things, but it seems such a waste to pour it away."

Evelyn, finding it amusing, took the bowl and drank it.

Not long after, a servant ca to collect the bowls, smilingly suggesting the two of them go to the rooftop of the small building to enjoy the breeze, which could help them sober up.

They gladly agreed, and upon arriving, they found that the Ford Family servants had also prepared refreshing fruits and snacks for them.

"Is this what it’s like to be in a wealthy family?" Yara, a bit uninhibited from the alcohol, remarked to Evelyn, "I even saw the Ford Family has Filipino servants during the day."

Sitting back in the rocking chair, Evelyn smiled with her eyes closed, "Let’s earn good money, we might live like this one day too."

Yara’s face blood with a smile and she wondered aloud, "I never thought you’d be soone with material desires, Evelyn."

"I am now," Evelyn opened her eyes, her refined features looking even more beautiful under the moonlight, "What’s that saying, even if there’s no love, having money is always good."

Yara was filled with laughter, yet added indignantly, "Hey, what do you an, no love? Doesn’t my love for you count?"

The two exchanged a glance, sharing a knowing, gentle laugh.

Under the bright moonlit sky, Evelyn suddenly noticed a familiar figure flash by the Ford Family’s gate.

She was montarily stunned, then sat up straight.

"What’s the matter?" Yara asked, puzzled.

Evelyn stared at that direction for a long ti, and finally shook her head, "Nothing."

Just now, was that Jas?

anwhile, Jas erged from the shadows of the trees at the Ford Family’s gate and got into the stretch Lincoln where Harrison Grant was seated.

Harrison was leaning back in the seat, resting with his eyes closed.

Upon hearing movent, Harrison didn’t open his eyes, his deep voice rang out, "So, you finally decided to leave?"

Jas didn’t respond to him, rely instructing the driver to drive away.

Back at the Grant Family’s old residence, Harrison slowly got out of the car and noticed Jas showing no intention of following, so Harrison scoffed, "I have sothing to tell you, co inside."

Jas remained expressionless for a long mont, then finally got out of the car, following Harrison into the old residence.

The old residence was brightly lit, with Jasper Grant standing at the entrance to the main building, apparently having waited for a while.

"Dad, big brother, you’re back?" Jasper, not appearing upset about not being taken to the Ford Family’s heir’s birthday morial by Harrison earlier, still smiled warmly and gracefully, "How was today? Did big brother see Miss Clayton?"
