Not long after, Franklin Ford sent a ssage saying that Yara Reagan was making a scene, wanting to confront Jas Grant, and he had no choice but to send her ho first.
He told Evelyn Clayton not to move from where she was, that he would be back soon to find her.
Evelyn replied politely that she was already on her way back, and then turned off her phone.
She wandered aimlessly down the street, the dim streetlights casting shadows on her delicate and fair face, her features exquisitely beautiful.

In the parking lot, Jas Grant and Lynn Yates got into the car one after the other. When the driver asked for a destination, neither of them spoke.
Lynn sat upright and after a while, she said indifferently to the driver, "You can step out for a bit, I need to talk with Director Grant."
The driver got out as instructed, and Lynn finally turned to look at Jas Grant.
Jas was staring out of the car window, lost in thought.
"Not happy?" Lynn’s voice was calm, "Worried she’d misunderstand?"
"Ha." Jas let out a bitter laugh, "She won’t misunderstand, because she doesn’t care at all."
Lynn couldn’t stand to see Jas looking so desolate and dejected, so she spoke with a bit of coldness, "These days you’ve been out drinking excessively over investnt negotiations just because you had a fight with Evelyn?"
Jas remained silent, but his sharp profile was visibly tense.
Lynn let out a mocking laugh, "I just saw Evelyn, and although she seed calm afterward, there was a mont of turmoil when she saw you with ."
Pausing, Lynn added, "I don’t know why she tried so hard to act composed afterward, but at least I understand one thing."
"If it goes on like this, you two will really be over."
Elsewhere, Evelyn Clayton kept walking and eventually found herself near the Riverside River.
It was already late at night; a crescent moon hung in the sky, casting a serene reflection on the river’s surface.
The lights on the Riverbridge glistened faintly, casting a starry reflection on the rippling water.
Evelyn was montarily entranced, standing still for a long ti.
Behind her, a shadow gradually approached.
Just as the shadow was about to reach Evelyn, she seed to sense sothing and spun around abruptly.
In that instant, she locked eyes with those nacing eyes and felt a chill run through her, her pupils dilating in surprise.
"...Matthew Sullivan?!"
The man looked disheveled and worn out, wearing a hoodie and jeans that appeared unkempt, nothing like his forr self.
Matthew’s gaze was obscure, staring at Evelyn for a long ti before letting out a hoarse, unpleasant laugh, "Yes, it’s . Evelyn, long ti no see."
A slight mocking smile appeared in Evelyn’s eyes, "Not that long. In my plan, I wasn’t supposed to see you ever again."
As if struck by sothing, a hint of pain flashed in Matthew’s eyes, but it was quickly swallowed by shadows, turning into obsession.
"Is that so?" he murmured to himself, "Never see again... What a pity, how could I let you get your wish?"
As he finished speaking, Evelyn instinctively sensed danger and turned to leave.
But unexpectedly, Matthew grabbed ahold of Evelyn’s wrist.
"Evelyn, I’ve been following you for a long ti, just to find this chance..." Matthew panted, pulling Evelyn tightly into his arms.
The man’s snake-like dangerous and deep voice hissed near her ear, making Evelyn feel disgusted as she struggled, "Matthew Sullivan, you’re stalking ? What exactly do you want?!"
"Evelyn, didn’t you say you didn’t want to see ? What a pity, I still miss you very much..."
