As Evelyn Clayton murmured the latest trending search term, both Yara Reagan and Iris Lockwood fell silent as though struck by the cold.

They exchanged a glance filled with a hint of fear, then each picked up their phone to check.

"Damn... that fast?" Yara mumbled, "Is this happening too quickly? Are stockholders really so subjective now? Just because Jas Grant is suspected of cheating?"

Seeing her puzzled expression, Iris pressed her lips together silently, her face growing even more grim.

She sneered, "Because the people buying stocks and funds aren’t just the stereotypical middle-aged anymore. Many young n and won dabble in buying a piece just for fun. For this reason, many large corporations are making money off of it now, while the young ones are often very righteous."

After a pause, Iris continued with a soft sigh, "They fancy themselves the champions of justice. So will judge those they believe are wrong online, even though they have no right to do so."

Yara was stuck, unable to say a word.

She knew the situation all too well, but it had always happened to others. Now that it was on her, she felt utterly helpless.

"Evelyn Clayton..." Iris said, looking towards Evelyn.

Seeing Evelyn still in a daze, Iris could no longer suppress her anger: "Evelyn Clayton, weren’t you quite formidable before? Why are you suddenly mute now when sothing happens?"

Yara remained silent this ti too, not saying a word, just staring fixedly at Evelyn.

After a long while, Evelyn seed to wake up from a dream.

She pinched the bridge of her nose: "I was just thinking about who followed Jas Grant, and what their motive was... and also, if because of this thing, the partners Yara and I are working with cancel their intentions, what then?"

Evelyn was like the pillar, her composure calming everyone down imnsely.

Yara let out a soft sigh of relief, "It’s good you haven’t lost your cool. Right now, it’s best to contact Jas Grant, since he’s one of the parties involved, and the two of us brainstorm so solutions."

"No." Evelyn’s refusal was abrupt and decisive, without hesitation.

Yara blinked, then her pupils widened slightly: "Why? You can’t still be worried that contacting him now will make his situation more difficult, can you?"

Evelyn’s eyes flickered for a mont, then she denied it: "No, it’s just that after careful consideration, it’s indeed not the ti to contact him now."

Yara remained skeptical: "Really? Why do I still feel like you’re protecting him?"

You can’t bla Yara for overthinking; Jas Grant’s influence is far bigger than Evelyn’s. Evelyn easily has ways to keep herself out of this incident.

But clearly, Evelyn didn’t intend to do that.

"Forget it, let’s not talk about these ifs and buts." Iris’s voice was slightly deeper, "The urgent thing is to figure out if your partners might have reservations because of this, and choose not to cooperate."

Naturally, Yara was very concerned about this, and with a sigh, she went to the bedroom to make phone calls.

Iris and Evelyn locked eyes, Iris’s usually vibrant and expressive face was uncharacteristically somber.

She stared at Evelyn for a long ti until Evelyn could barely hold on: "Why are you staring at like that?"

"Nothing." Iris pouted slightly, "Evelyn Clayton, you know very well, all you need is to issue a clarification, temporarily shift the matter onto Jas Grant... No, it’s indeed his issue, as long as you clear it up, this thing pretty much amounts to nothing."

"But obviously, you don’t plan on doing that, right?"
