Evelyn Clayton moved into the factory dormitory and checked the progress in the workshop every day.
After two days, Evelyn’s glasses were all red from exhaustion.
Yara Reagan was also so busy that she couldn’t find ti for herself. The exhibition setup was almost completed, and Evelyn just needed to check the progress the night before the exhibition opened.
On the night she received Yara’s report call, the workshop progress was finally caught up.
Old Wang excitedly went to the office to find Evelyn that night, "The progress has completely caught up! We just need to transport the clothes to the exhibition tomorrow!"
Evelyn felt as if her whole body was falling apart, but she still forced a smile and responded, "Thank you, Old Wang. For the ti being, I’ll leave the task of transporting the new clothes to you tomorrow. I need to go over there first; the exhibition is starting the day after tomorrow, and I must go and inspect it."
Old Wang hurriedly said, "Don’t worry, Director Clayton, I’ve got everything covered here!"
As she watched Old Wang leave, Evelyn collapsed in her chair and slowly closed her eyes.
Just as she was planning to sleep for a while, soone suddenly knocked on the office door.
Evelyn frowned slightly, about to ask the person to leave and not disturb her, when she heard a gentle laugh—
The familiar low laugh made Evelyn’s mind snap to attention.
She suddenly raised her gaze and t Jas Grant’s amused eyes.
Jas’s smile slightly froze upon seeing her exhausted face, and then he frowned and approached her, gazing intently at Evelyn.
"Why do you look like you haven’t slept for several days?" Jas’s heart faltered slightly, and his tone gradually turned cold, "About that fire incident..."
Evelyn quietly looked at him for a mont before diverting her gaze, "It’s nothing, it’s already been resolved."
Jas sensed her coldness, aware that she was sowhat upset.
Was she upset because he didn’t show up?
Lowering his eyes, he saw the bandages on Evelyn’s calf, and Jas sighed silently.
After a while, Jas silently crouched down and began to tend to Evelyn’s leg injury.
He took out so ointnt he brought and gently applied it to Evelyn’s wound, his tone ambiguous.
"I just got news that the Ford Family’s eldest sister is returning to the country in three days."
Evelyn froze for a mont, unable to avoid the surprise, "The Ford Family’s eldest sister?"
"Yes, Franklin and Felix Ford’s elder sister, who has been abroad all the ti." Jas explained slowly and deliberately, "Once she’s back, we can all breathe a sigh of relief."
Complex emotions flashed across Evelyn’s eyes as she watched Jas tending to her injury, remaining silent for a long ti.
Jas carefully wrapped clean bandages around the wound, then seed to exhale in relief, "Fortunately, it wasn’t too serious, or else I wouldn’t have let Sumr off so easily."
Evelyn picked up on the key point, "Are you saying that Sumr really ordered soone to start the fire?"
"I can’t be entirely sure, Sumr does things flawlessly." Jas frowned deeply, "But on the day the incident happened at your factory, I went to et Tim Young and secured a collaboration."
"Oh, so after Sumr found out, she vented her anger on ?"
Evelyn stared directly at Jas, sneering, "You really have quite the charm."
Jas raised an eyebrow slightly, his long fingers sowhat teasingly brushed against Evelyn’s cheek, "What, are you jealous?"
Evelyn kept a straight face, indifferent yet beautiful. She turned her head slightly and scoffed.
"I have a lot of work every day, Director Grant, don’t flatter yourself."
"I know, you’re just jealous." Jas’s laughter was joyful, suddenly leaning forward and gazing intensely at Evelyn.
"I will handle the other matters, so you won’t have to worry anymore."
