After an unknown length of ti, Yara Reagan finally heard the sound of fire trucks arriving.

She finally broke free from the person’s grasp beside her.

Just as she was about to rush into the factory, she saw Evelyn Clayton coming out in a sorry state.

"Evelyn!!" Yara nearly broke down in tears, rushing forward to embrace her.

Evelyn Clayton’s white dress was stained and covered in soot and extinguisher powder.

Her beautiful, flawless face was also smudged with dirt.

Her eyes were vacant, and she almost collapsed straight into Yara’s arms.

Yara, panting heavily, gritted her teeth and picked up Evelyn, carrying her to the side.

When the firefighters arrived, the on-site fire was mostly under control.

The police officers ca to inquire about the details, but Evelyn had already fainted.

Only then did Yara notice that a part of Evelyn’s skirt was burned off, leaving marks of fire licking on her calf.

The scars weren’t big, but they had already started blistering, looking quite frightening.

She quickly called for an ambulance.

Before taking Evelyn to the hospital, Yara steadied her thoughts and called the workshop manager over.

"Clean up here, and contact anyti if there are any issues! Don’t let, don’t let Evelyn’s hard work go to waste, no matter the losses, first stabilize the workers!"

Hospital.

"Miss Clayton is not in any serious condition, the wounds are not severe, not even third-degree burns. With so dication for a period, she’ll recover. Her nerves might just be too tense, which is why she hasn’t awoken yet, but once she does, she can be discharged."

Listening to the doctor’s words, Yara finally felt at ease.

Thanking the doctor, Yara entered the ward, looking at the bed where Evelyn lay with her eyes tightly closed, her heart ached.

Fool, she was willing to risk her life for that factory.

She held Evelyn’s hand, lowering her head, tears falling.

Suddenly, a low chuckle ca from above her head.

With tear-blurred eyes, Yara looked up to see Evelyn was awake.

She weakly opened her eyes, a faint smile beneath them.

"You’re awake!" Yara’s tears imdiately flowed even more, seeing Evelyn smiling.

Rembering the events of the day, Yara was both angry and scared, "Are you crazy? Running right in like that, did you want to get burned to death inside?"

Evelyn sighed lightly, letting Yara help her sit up.

The wound on her calf pricked with pain, causing her to frown tightly.

Yara was highly anxious, "Does the wound hurt? I’ll call the doctor!"

"It’s okay." Evelyn stopped her, "It’s normal, you get burned, it hurts, no need to call a doctor."

Yara widened her eyes in disbelief, putting her hands on her hips.

"You know it! Do you know how scary it was today? No matter how much you want to make money, you can’t just rush in like you’ve gone mad!"

Evelyn pursed her lips and smiled, despite her face being pale, it was still pleasingly beautiful.

But that smile didn’t reach her eyes.

"I couldn’t stand by and watch the hard work be destroyed – besides, nothing happened, did it? I went in after making sure and dared to approach only because it was just a spot that caught fire; the blaze hadn’t spread much then."

Yara still had lingering fears, "So terrifying, are we cursed this year or sothing? Such outrageous things happening to us."

Having lived for over twenty years, Yara had never truly seen a fire disaster, let alone it striking their own business.

Today, it was eye-opening and truly frightening.

"Garnt factories are flammable areas, actually not uncommon. But..." Evelyn’s eyes were slightly dark, "today was indeed an accident."

So accidental, as if it was intentional.

She clearly rembered, holding an extinguisher running in, the fire started just precisely at the spot where the fabric hadn’t been placed on the assembly line.

No matter how you looked, it seed man-made.
