The ergency number isn’t working, but we can try dialing 120.

Evelyn Clayton caught a glimpse of the phone screen, her gaze pausing.

Yara Reagan licked her lips, feeling she needed to explain: "Evelyn, I think you shouldn’t avoid dical care. You’re already talking nonsense; it’s a serious situation."

"My brain is fine."

"I don’t believe it..."

"I wasn’t hit!" Evelyn Clayton declared firmly, "No need to go to the hospital!"

Yara Reagan was doubtful: "Then why...?"

"I just ca to a realization."

Evelyn Clayton raised her bandaged hand for her to see, but Yara Reagan still didn’t notice anything.

But this ti, Evelyn didn’t keep her guessing: "Yara, she used unorthodox ans to bring to her territory, even threatened and inflicted so injury. Yet, after I got out, I’m not planning to do anything to her. Why is that?"

Yara Reagan seed to half understand.

Evelyn Clayton mused: "Because she has money and power. In a certain sense, she can be the master of so people, perhaps including us."

Realistically speaking, if she wanted, making Evelyn Clayton vanish from the world wouldn’t be impossible.

In the upper circles, the amount of filth concealed is easily imaginable.

What Evelyn said was quite different from the ideals she had shown before.

In Yara’s words, it felt like a sudden shift from Christianity to Buddhism.

"Evelyn, I still think you’re shocked."

They had been apart for a few hours, and the way her friend spoke made her seem like a changed person, disturbingly frantic.

Evelyn Clayton shook her head in denial, the cut on her collar still stinging from the knife.

"I know what I’m saying," she looked at Yara Reagan seriously, "I also realized that unless one is independent and strong, they will be manipulated and humiliated."

The feeling of humiliation in the basent was sothing Evelyn Clayton never wanted to experience again.

Following a hangover, Jas Grant’s headache intensified, but ti waited for no one. He changed clothes and headed to The Grant Group.

In a hurry, the secretary saw him and quickly called Lynn Yates to inform her.

Lynn Yates discreetly assessed the man and sensed sothing was off.

Yet Jas Grant didn’t give her the chance to speak; his apology left Lynn Yates stunned.

"The setback in The Grant Group’s bidding this ti is ultimately due to problems on my side," Jas Grant spoke formally as usual, leaving no room for error: "If Director Yates doesn’t mind, we could talk about the bidding project for hydraulic building materials in Border Town."

The sincerity Jas Grant offered was more than sufficient; in the past, such a good project wouldn’t have been shared at all.

Thanks for that.

Lynn Yates mocked inwardly but remained outwardly calm: "That project was tough to secure in the first place; The Grant Group withdrawing from the bid simply returns the project to you."

Until the project truly starts, it’s not considered fully secured.

Believing in her arrogance, Lynn Yates trusted she would not "be disappointed."

After all, The Grant Group’s biggest competitor in this bidding wasn’t The Ford Group, but the Grant Group itself.

In business, there are no eternal enemies or allies.

Lynn Yates was very clear on this point. As she graciously accepted Jas Grant’s goodwill, she didn’t forget to concede a step.

"Hydraulic building materials aren’t The Grant Group’s specialty; even if we secured it, it wouldn’t be done well." Lynn Yates was adept at extracting the greatest degree of benefits for her side: "If Director Grant truly wants to make ands, how about we collaborate once more to snatch the project back from The Ford Group."
