The vehicles involved in the accident have all disappeared.
Evelyn Clayton unconsciously tightened her grip on the phone, her eyes turning cold: "Okay, I’ll go investigate."
She hung up the phone and quickened her pace towards the garage.
If there’s nothing wrong with this case, why can’t we find the vehicles from back then?
Could it be that soone destroyed them to cover up sothing?
"Ring-ring-ring..."
She was lost in thought when her phone rang.
Picking it up, Jas Grant’s na flashed before her eyes.
Evelyn Clayton frowned and answered the call.
A familiar, deep, and hoarse voice ca through the other end.
"Evelyn Clayton."
Almost simultaneously, a sharp braking sound pierced the air by her ear.
She turned her head and saw a van speeding towards her at an alarming speed.
Her pupils suddenly contracted, her mind nearly coming to a halt, going blank.
A blinding light flashed abruptly, making her close her eyes.
The next second, the van rushed at her without slowing down, forcefully hitting her. Her thin, fragile body was flung away, rolling several tis on the ground before stopping.
It felt as if her internal organs were smashed, a piercing pain from broken bones.
The pain made her clench her teeth, unable to utter a sound.
Blood spread from the back of her head, and in the muddle of consciousness, she saw several figures.
But they were blurred, so she couldn’t make out who they were; the overwhelming pain brought her close to death.
"Help... ..."
The instinct to survive and the fear made her subconsciously reach out for help with difficulty.
The van sped past her, with nobody caring whether she lived or died.
The phone that had been knocked away had a shattered screen, but the call had not ended.
On the other side, Jas Grant only heard the sound of impact.
His heart suddenly tightened, his voice low and urgent: "Evelyn Clayton, say sothing!"
There was only a busy tone for a long ti on the other end, no one speaking.
Jas Grant realized sothing had happened, hung up the phone, imdiately tracked Evelyn Clayton’s phone location, and drove there quickly.
The call was disconnected, the despair of near-death seeped through her body.
The severe pain from her body made Evelyn Clayton unable to hold on any longer.
The world before her eyes beca increasingly blurry until consciousness dissipated, her heavy eyelids drooped, and she fell into darkness.
Jas Grant arrived at the accident garage at breakneck speed, but there was only a dark pool of blood on the ground and a shattered phone.
He rushed forward to pick it up, confirming it was Evelyn Clayton’s phone.
A sense of panic swept over him, he gasped, rare panic and fear in his eyes.
He looked around but didn’t see a trace of Evelyn Clayton.
"Evelyn Clayton!"
Jas Grant panicked, frantically roaring in the cold and silent garage.
His dark eyes seed ready to blaze but were filled with an indescribable helplessness and fear.
"Um, are you looking for the girl who just had the accident? She was sent to the hospital."
Soone, seeing his frantic state, bravely stepped forward to kindly inform him.
Right, the hospital!
A glint of light flashed in Jas Grant’s panic-stricken black eyes, and he quickly got back into the car, flooring the accelerator.
On the way, he drove so fast he almost caused an accident.
The hospital.
Jas Grant slamd on the brakes, stopped the car, opened the door, and ran into the hospital.
"Where is the girl brought in from the accident?"
The man’s bloodshot red eyes evoked a sense of submission.
Instantly, the nurse felt the surrounding temperature drop.
"In, in the ICU."
Without thinking further, Jas Grant rushed again towards the intensive care unit.
"Go away... don’t touch !"
In the hospital room, doctors were trying hard to calm Evelyn Clayton.
The door was suddenly pushed open harshly, and a man with an incredibly strong presence entered.
In an instant, the room, already chilly, dropped several degrees in temperature again.
