Evelyn Clayton held the phone, the worry in her eyes lingering.
A perfectly well-functioning conglorate suddenly falls into crisis for unknown reasons, which is truly baffling.
Her gaze darkened slightly.
"Yara Reagan, can you do a favor?"
Yara Reagan crossed her arms, sitting to the side, watched her friend with a look of frustration at failing to et expectations.
"Better keep your mouth shut. At this ti, except for you resting in bed, I won’t help with anything else."
Truly a good friend, she saw through her intentions instantly.
Evelyn Clayton smiled faintly, her face still pale, lips devoid of color.
"How do you know so well? I need to go to The Grant Group imdiately, can you take ?"
With Yara Reagan, there was no need for beating around the bush.
Hearing this, Yara Reagan gritted her teeth.
"Are you out of your mind? Look at your current state! You still want to go ddle in other people’s affairs, do you not want your life?"
As they spoke, Evelyn Clayton had already lifted the blanket and gotten out of bed.
The room spun, and she had to hold onto the bedside table to steady herself.
"I have to go see for myself, otherwise I won’t be at ease."
Yara Reagan ultimately couldn’t resist Evelyn Clayton, and she supported her friend with a look of helplessness.
"I think you’re going to end up dead because of that man one day!"
With that, they headed off to The Grant Group together.
In the car, Evelyn Clayton had already prepared herself ntally.
She thought of all the possibilities and even rehearsed what to say to Jas Grant in her mind.
But who knew, in the vast company, it seed like all the staff had vanished.
Reaching the top floor eting room, from a distance, she saw a tall figure.
But it wasn’t Jas Grant, it was Jasper Grant.
Evelyn Clayton’s eyes flashed with surprise.
The man obviously saw her too, but the surprise in his eyes vanished quickly.
"Miss Clayton, why aren’t you resting at ho properly?"
"It’s just a few hundred CCs of blood, I’m not that delicate. What’s going on? Where is everyone, where’s Jas Grant?"
Going straight to the point, Jasper Grant’s eyes held a bit of complexity.
"Big brother, he..."
"What about him?" Evelyn’s voice was filled with urgency.
"Big brother’s recent condition is worrying. His decisions have fundantally gone wrong, leading to investnt failures."
"What kind of problem could cause the company such severe losses?"
Evelyn Clayton pressed on.
Jasper Grant lightly coughed, hiding embarrassnt, looking troubled as if he didn’t wish to say more.
"Jasper Grant, don’t forget my relationship with the Grant Family, is there anything you can’t tell ?"
Jasper Grant collected his thoughts briefly before slowly speaking.
"You’re my future sister-in-law, so there’s really no need to hide things from you. This ti, in the investnt, big brother signed a ’high-stakes’ agreent with the board; it’s do-or-die."
"However, his misjudgnt—not being able to manage funds—is a minor issue, but he’s facing accountability from the board. Right now, all the top and middle managent are in a eting."
He wanted to say more but saw that petite figure suddenly disappear in front of him.
Evelyn Clayton rushed towards the eting room in quick steps.
Standing at the door, she clenched her fists tightly, taking a deep breath.
Before she even pushed open the door, she could hear the intense argunts inside.
"This failed decision is entirely Director Grant’s responsibility. For such a huge loss to the company and shareholders, you have to give an explanation to everyone."
