"Then you need to think about whether you’ve offended soone before, or if soone doesn’t want you to be with Jas Grant." Director Jiang tapped the table heavily twice, reminding Evelyn Clayton to think carefully.

She frowned; there were many people who didn’t want her to be with Jas Grant, for example, Matthew Sullivan.

But Matthew Sullivan wouldn’t go to such great lengths to do this.

"Director Jiang, let think it over."

"No problem. The fact that you’re considering it ans there’s room for negotiation." Director Jiang shook hands with her and asked the waiter to bring in the nu to order food.

However, Evelyn Clayton waved her hand, picked up her bag, and was about to leave.

"Director Jiang, I ca to you to discuss the contract matters, so now that we’re done, I’ll be heading off."

"Why don’t you have sothing to eat first—"

Knowing that soone behind Director Jiang was giving orders, Evelyn Clayton lost interest in talking with him.

Director Jiang probably didn’t know much more than she did, and probing wouldn’t yield anything useful.

As she walked out of the private room, whether from sitting for too long or because the three glasses of white wine were starting to fernt, Evelyn Clayton was feeling increasingly dizzy.

She must rember to take hangover pills later; what a fake and shoddy product, making her feel so awful!

Supporting herself against the wall as she went downstairs, just when Evelyn Clayton was about to flag a taxi to go ho, she suddenly heard soone calling her from behind.

"Isn’t it Director Clayton?"

Following the voice, she realized it was Amber Whitman.

But she wasn’t in the mood for a verbal spar, so she continued walking out.

"Wait a minute." Amber Whitman walked lightly over to her, "Why are you running when you see ?"

The alcohol rushed to her head, and Evelyn Clayton replied irritably, "I’m not in the mood to chat with you."

"Who asked you to chat with ..." Amber Whitman shook her glass, "I just wanted to ask you, how does the spiked drink taste?"

Evelyn Clayton’s mind cleared for three seconds and quickly realized the drink was spiked. She said resolutely, "You drugged ."

"Haha, you can eat nonsense, but you can’t talk nonsense." Amber Whitman circled around Evelyn Clayton, "Are you feeling uncomfortable now? Do you want to call soone to keep you company? I heard this kind of drug won’t stop working unless it’s released. I’ll find soone for you, better than you getting desperate and finding so random man."

"Get lost." Evelyn Clayton walked out with a cold face, her anger making her mind a bit clearer, but her limbs were starting to weaken.

"Good intentions are mistaken for a donkey’s liver and lungs." Amber Whitman smirked but didn’t follow.

Evelyn Clayton had just walked out of the club when she imdiately called Jas Grant.

The man on the other end answered quickly, his deep voice sounding huskier and more sensual than usual to Evelyn Clayton.

"Almost there, what’s up?"

"Where... are you?" Evelyn Clayton gasped.

Upon hearing this, Jas Grant frowned, his tone serious, "What’s wrong with you?"

"I’ve been drugged. Amber Whitman told there was sothing added to my drink... Jas Grant, I’m at the Ding Yue Club, co save quickly." By the ti she said the last few words, Evelyn Clayton was already trembling a bit.

Jas Grant quickly instructed her, his tone calm and reassuring, "Go back to the club, find a waiter, and tell them Director Grant is coming to pick you up, and to stay with you. I’m sending soone over right now."

"Jas Grant, hurry up."

The man didn’t say much more, speaking with a deep, calm voice, determined and with a hint of patient reassurance.

"I will co."

Following Jas Grant’s instructions, Evelyn Clayton found a waiter.

The waiter was supporting Evelyn Clayton but encountered Amber Whitman along with two others in the corridor.
