Chapter 66 - 66. Bribing

"I need to make a phone call." I told the guard.

"Not now." He grumbled back.

I conjured up a one hundred dollar and showed it to him through the bars.

"You sure?" I asked. They can't keep

away from my attorney and other people, I am pretty sure of that.

He motioned for

to give him the money through the prison bars, but I shook my hand.

"First the phone call. I need to make two."

It was early morning, and we hadn't even gone eating breakfast. I bribed the guard patrolling the cell floors.

The money would disappear after two minutes, but then I have done my calls. The baldies were still after , so I had enough enemies already, one more didn't matter. Though, a guard as an enemy was really a bad idea. But I had to make these calls.

He brought

to the phones, which were old ones attached to the wall. They needed coins to be used, but those I could conjure up with no problems.

Calling my grandma, nobody picked up. So I went for Jordan, in hope that he would not cry and be able to have a conversation with . Lucky that I rember their phone numbers.

"Yes?" He asked groggily. I thought they would be asked to cover the phone call from the prison, like in TV's, but I had already paid with montary coins, so it was only logical that he didn't know who it was.

"Kenny speaking, is everyone alright?" I asked.

"...." There was a long silence.

"Say sothing, or I try calling soone else."

"NO. Kenny shit, every week we co to prison, but they wouldn't let us in. How are you?"

"Don't be so devoted and go learn for college. I kick your asses if you drop out." I laughed, feeling choked up.

"I will spread your word to the others. Every ti we stand in front of the building, Danny starts crying." He sighed.

"What a prick. Stop coming, I'll tell you when I get visitor rights. I am fine here. About the earthquake—are you guys alright?" The guard beside

cleared his throat, and I turned around, hastily conjuring up two one hundred dollar bills for him to see before putting them in my pocket, shutting him up.

"Everyone is fine. A small part of the city just imploded. There was a massive earth hole that devoured everyone." Jordan got more somber.

"What are you talking about? Where?" I felt dread crawling up.

"They don't say, it should be south."

The old dragon watches over the south, her cave is there. I should call Ethan, but I don't have his number.

"Do

a favor. Contact Ethan Hendricks, he is my attorney. Tell him that they won't let visitors see , and, that I wanted to see him. Tell him to make sure that my grandma is alright after the earthquake."

"Roger. I will contact him. Are you alright? Where have you been when you disappeared? We have all received your mail, have you really crossed?"

"I have; I even t the real Henrietta; it was really just her parallel world self that had been found dead. But forget that, make sure you all look after yourself. I had a vision that the world was gonna end." The guard looked at

strangely, but I ignored it.

"Then can we get you out?" Jordan concentrated on the wrong things, sounding all excited.

"No, Jordan. The world is gonna end, and I will be free anyway. I saw it. You all have to be careful. Don't go near places like this earth hole, and watch the news. If there is a corpse found sowhere, don't go near the area." The first portal was near Henrietta2's corps, so maybe the next one also had a dead body in its vicinity.

"I will tell the others."

"Another thing. There was a monster. I an, a real monster, that had killed hundreds of people. This is gonna be real, probably. So I am torn between telling you to start learning self-defense and go get yourself weapons, or asking you to continue school. Think about it yourself." I conjured up another coin and fed it to the phone.

For the off-chance that I was wrong, I wouldn't want to jeopardize my friends futures. I can't decide it for them.

"So you are not gonna kick our asses if we drop out?" Jordan asked.

"I will if the world is not gonna end. If it ends, then you are fine to drop out." I noticed that the guard was really impatient, and raised two fingers. Give

two minutes, then the coin will disappear, and I can conjure up his money.

He nodded and turned around.

Jordan laughed, and I continued.

"Warn whoever you want to, also contact Elli and warn her." She was in our class, so the guys knew her, albeit not as good because at that ti we weren't as close.

"... She already contacted us..." Jordan stopped halfway.

"And?" I felt my heart drop.

Jordan hesitated.

"She was devastated...about...misjudging you. I am so sorry, bro. We tried to tell her that you are innocent, but... I don't know. Henry had talked to her, and then you were on the news and everything... She has beco real fat and ugly, so you aren't losing out."

I chuckled,

"How can you know that? Did you video call?"

"No, I heard it in her voice." Jordan said a good notch more quietly.

"It doesn't matter, warn her anyway." The disappointnt was there again, but I suppressed it.

"Rember. Ethan Hendricks, he has to find a way to check on my grandma, then et . Stay save everyone."

"I have it noted down. You too, look after yourself, rember that we believe in you." Jordan said.

"Thank you, I an it." I said and hung up.

Conjuring up two hundred dollars, I gave it to the guard. He checked them to see if they were genuine, and when he was satisfied, he pocketed them in his pants. Good, maybe he would think he had just lost them when they disappeared.
