Chapter 31 - 31. Flipping

"Yeah." I hadn't told them about the way I 'read' the future and past. So I explained it to them. First flipping the coin, then slapping it on my other hand, revealing it there.

Then, I explained how, with Mr. Atkins, I revealed the coin with the hand I caught it.

"Try it. Once revealing it on the back of your hand, one ti with the hand you catch it."

Danny pulled a paper out of his schoolbag and got a pen ready to write down what I would see.

"I owe all of you a favor." I mumbled before taking Jordan's hand. I flipped the coin and slapped it on the back of my hand, revealing it.

It turned golden, and I stopped, trying again, until it went black. I knew for sure that back of the hand

golden (past) was always correct; now it was about the future that I had to experint.

Back of my hand, Black, Future. The woman uncovered her eyes and ears.

A tall, muscular man sits in a round of people.

"That guy, we can't let him go. You have seen him; he has crazy eyes. We have to do sothing."

Coming back, I let go of Jordan.

"Back of my hand, future, I saw Jordan, but with more muscles, saying that 'they had to get him, that they had to do sothing, that he had crazy eyes.' I think it was about ."

Danny wrote it down.

"Again." Jordan put his hand out, and I grabbed it.

This ti I flipped the coin, revealing it in my palm, black; future. The woman's eyes and ears were uncovered.

A tall man puts out flyers; on them was a picture of a young man with light-brown hair; there stood, in big letters, 'Have you seen ?'

Another man with a crew cut walks to him,

"Finished my two streets, next?"

Letting go of Jordan, I again said to Danny,

"Palm, future, Jordan and Omar were disrupting missing flyers of

on the streets; they looked like they do now."

Danny wrote it down, and I repeated to flip the coin.

The back of my hand, future, eyes, and ears.

A tall, muscular man walks along a corridor in school, his eyes sharp, and when he sees soone, he shoves his shoulder with aggression.

"Back of my hand, future, Jordan with more muscles shoves

to the floor aggressively."

"Nosebleed." Jordan said and gave

a tissue.

Omar ca with food, which was rice with olette, and it made

salivate. He brought for all of us a plate.

"No more 'reading'; it is enough already." Jordan said to , taking his plate.

Danny also stuffed his mouth before Omar even had sat down with us while he looked at his notes.

"Every ti you reveal the coin on the back of your hand, and it is about the future, it shows the more muscular Jordan, who thinks you were the murderer."

"Every ti I read the future, I did it by revealing it on the back of my hand. So when I heard you, Chelsea, and Jordan speaking of

being a murderer and

killing Haruka, it was false." I nodded while eating. That is at least what I wanted to believe.

"The only future I read accurately should then be the fire and

going missing." I concluded, feeling a burden fall off .

"Yeah, but it shouldn't be only false." Danny said.

"It's like you see the future of a parallel world."

I stopped chewing, stunned, as it clicked in my mind.

"Could that be it? Kenny2 killed Henrietta2; hence, the corpse doesn't look like her, and everything she had with her was false, from the pictures and videos, to her phone and my false phone number!" I sprung up with the plate in my hand, looking at my friends.

"Could this be?" I was so excited, I couldn't get a grip of it.

"Fuck! That makes a hundred percent sense!" Danny also sprung up.

Omar grinned, and Jordan nodded slowly.

"We need more data."

We finished eating, and everyone got a beer as I made another, proper list, of every future vision that I ever had, including the vision I had in the morgue.

Everything started with my mother. Back then, how did I reveal the coin? Was it on my palm or on the back of my hand? Back then, everything was blurry besides

rembering the black coin. However, I know that I had my left hand in a cast that remained there for about a year after the death of my mother because just nobody cared about going with

to the hospital to take it down.

I see my hands while flipping the coin exactly like they are in reality, with eventual scabs, with cut or longer fingernails. So naturally, I would see the cast as well inside my imagination. And if I had a cast on my left hand as a child, I wouldn't reveal the coin by slapping it on my injured hand. No, I would reveal it in my right hand, on my palm.

Palm→black→ correct future

Back of my hand→ black→ parallel world future

Back of my hand→ golden→ correct past

Jordan looked over my shoulder,

"So, golden, palm should be the parallel world past?"

"Let's try?" We held hands, and I flipped the coin, revealing it in my palm, golden, so it was the past. Eyes and ears uncovered.

"Yeah. I saw Jordan2 coming ho and eating sothing." I spoke after coming back.

"Nosebleed." Jordan gave

another tissue.

"You have to limit the flipping; that can't be healthy."

I nodded and got myself a cigarette. I really felt ready to sleep again, don't know if it was because so much was happening, or because of

constant 'flipping'.

However, we were now wiser, and I finally stopped doubting myself. Opening another can of beer, I held a short thank-you speech to the guys.

"Thanks."
