Chapter 3: 3. Punches
Now it was also confird what I had already suspected. The heart being uncovered was to let
feel what the person I 'read' had felt.
These raw emotions were still apparent in myself, so real that I felt more tornted by them than the actual choking.
Black dots disturbed my view, and I wanted to say that it hadn't been , that I had not killed anybody, but how would I ever be able to so if my life was drained out of ?
My ears rang, and soon I heard other people screaming. I barely saw others trying to pull my attacker away from , being unsuccessful but at least bringing him to let go of my throat. Instead, he punched
in the face a few tis.
I couldn't feel the pain from his attack, as my insides still scread from the emotions this guy before
had gone through, and seeing his attack, was still going through.
Finally, enough people ca, and he was dragged away from .
Turning to the side, I coughed heavily, gobbling up all the air I could get into , slowly starting to feel my nose bleeding, perceiving how my eye was hurting.
Blinking a few tis, I touched my face while taking deep breaths, making sure that neither bones were broken nor my eye had plopped out or anything.
Besides my rapid heartbeat, I started to hear Danny yelling,
"Hold him down! What is wrong with him? Kick him if he doesn't behave; I'm going to call the police!"
"STOP MOVING!" Jordan scread, and when I turned around, I saw him being the lead in trying to hold my attacker down.
"Stop it!" I groaned. A few heads turned to , and Chelsea ca to my side, looking at my injuries.
"Let him go. Stop it." With my body in pain and my soul in pain, I couldn't let him be treated like this, not after the loss he had just gone through.
"No way." Danny hollered, his phone by his ear.
"I'm serious." I gave Danny a look, and he knew better than to continue to call the police. Cursing, he threw his phone on the grass, only to pick it up again in a huff.
My attacker had stopped moving the mont he saw , his face still ferociously contorted, like a rabid dog ready to bite soone to death.
"He wanted to kill you!" Jordan let go of my attacker that was still held down by others and ca to my side, taking a closer look at my throat.
"It doesn't matter; let it go; we are all drunk. Let's go ho."
"No, you go to the hospital!" Denny yelled at
while I stood up unsteadily, needing Jordan to help .
"Do I look like I need the hospital?" I asked him sternly, but the mont he wanted to speak, I interrupted him.
"Stop it; I'm fine. You all go away; I need to talk to him."
"No." Jordan bellowed, and I elbowed him.
"What's with the sudden care? You all go away." I said, looking at my attacker, who was still laying in the grass after being subdued.
"We are nearby; just scream if there is sothing." Chelsea said and motioned for the rest to follow.
"Be careful, mate." Omar told
before patting my shoulder—everyone finally leaving.
I leaned against the tree from before.
"I don't know you. What is this about?" I wanted to directly assure him that I didn't kill his sister, but that would make
all the more suspicious.
"Henrietta Devin." He said, and the picture of the dead body in my mind turned into one of a living one. A girl I knew, or at least had known.
The feelings tornting
lessened, at least the ones that weren't mine; now instead, I felt sad on my own.
"She was killed." The deep voice continued.
"But you know already."
I knew your sister was killed, not that it was Henrietta.
"You were the one who did it."
No, I didn't.
"I will prove it." He stood up and walked to .
"I will be behind you on every step you take; I will follow you to the end of the world; I will watch every one of your actions."
He leaned to , his face nearly in mine, as he was half a head taller than .
"I will get justice for her. Everyone will know; I will make sure that your true self will be displayed before the world."
"Be ready." He growled before turning around and leaving
behind.
After he left, I still couldn't believe it.
Neither that Henrietta was dead nor how he ca to the conclusion that it had been
who did it.
But my friends, who would turn away from , had shown
the truth already.
This guy was true to his promise.
