Chapter 135: 135. Scratch
I knew about the next shadow attack because I knew who its next victim was. Additionally, at that ti, there would be so ominous little cut on my face, so at least I knew that it was okay to take a breather for now.
Glasses Guy watched
eating before speaking after all four Devins had gone downstairs.
"How do you plan to eliminate the shadows? Do you want us to be the bait and commit suicide?"
"Did I say that?" I asked him.
"No." He looked at his empty plate.
My grandma contributed to the talk as well.
"Don’t forget whose food you are eating."
I saw the people at the table misinterpreting her words, as if they wouldn’t get sothing to eat if not killing shadows.
"Can you all calm down? I will kill them myself. Just stay still and don’t kill each other, like I told you to." After taking a bite, chewing, and swallowing obediently so that I wouldn’t get hit again, I cleared my throat.
"However, if the worst case happens, then yes. If you get possessed, then we’ll wake you up, and you will have to kill yourself, or you’ll really die." I shrugged.
Chelsea nodded.
"Better that than really dying."
Jeyjey chid in. Look at these two girls, so much more grown up than everyone else.
I finished eating while the others seed to have sothing to ask, each and every one for themselves, yet nobody spoke again until Chelsea took the word. I think I even saw them hinting at her with head gestures; what the hell.
"Kenny, what is that all about blood drinking, flesh-eating, and abilities?" She asked and leaned back.
I chuckled. She was probably the only one besides my grandma who knew that I was not really dangerous... most of the ti, as long as nobody stabbed
over a dozen tis.
"Well, Henrietta gets stronger if she sucks your blood, like a vampire. So don’t let her bite you." I grimaced so as not to break into laughter.
"Is she dangerous?" Baggy Jeans asked.
"Yes. Be careful. Neither attack her nor offer her your blood, and you will be fine." I continued in earnestness.
"HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT?" Red Hair jumped up from her seat.
"What is going on here? She can close portals? Why? Why didn’t you let us go ho? How long do we have to stay here with soone so dangerous?" She didn’t go into detail about who exactly she spoke of.
My grandmother frowned, and I found dinner was over now. I stood up and walked around the table to go back to my room.
"I already explained that. No need to worry."
Red Hair suddenly grabbed my wrist with an unexpected force, trying to stop
from leaving.
"THAT ISN’T ENOUGH! Stay here and explain!"
"Valeria, stop it." Baggy Jeans stood up, and I marveled at how courageous Red Hair suddenly was, not to ntion her strength.
"No, didn’t you hear him? We are not only cornered by dangerous monsters; now there are shadows and a cannibalistic woman running around! And did you see her hands? He did that to her hands! HE CRIPPLED HER!" She pointed at
accusingly.
"He is the Red-Eyed Murderer; we will all die by his hands. Why did they have to send him down?" She beca frenzied, and I started to get a bit annoyed.
I looked at my grandmother; she glowered at
and threw her napkin at the table as if the girl’s ntal breakdown was sohow my fault. Did she want to tell
that I am like my grandfather again? What the fuck.
Baggy Jeans looked at
in panic as if he feared I would butcher Red Hair for her ’exposing’ my identity, which everyone naturally knew of anyway. He picked up the girl, who started to thrash around before she pushed him back all of a sudden.
"I am scared! I am so, so scared! Where is everyone? Why do I have these mories since the cave?" She held her head as her words spilled out of her.
I walked to her, and she flinched, raising her hand to stop
while also trying to free herself from Baggy Jean’s hold. I suddenly thought of the little scratch I had seen in my vision, and it was that exact mont when she scratched
by accident, still in a fit.
"Haaa..." I breathed out audibly while stepping back, and sohow the atmosphere stagnated, everyone looking at
in horror.
I touched the scratch and found I was bleeding.
"Guys, co on. What the fuck? Why are you like this? You think I’d kill her for such a bullshit?" I wiped the blood away; it was such an insignificant scratch, a mosquito would do more damage. Fuck, I want a smoke.
"Can you tell
what you were talking about regarding the mories?" I asked Red Hair, who also had stilled.
"No, nothing." She muttered, seemingly thinking that sothing was wrong with her.
"So you have the mories of a monster deer, from its birth to its death?"
She looked at
in absolute horror before nodding slowly.
"Can you tell
about its death and what you ant with ’since the cave?’"
She didn’t speak, and I just conjured up a cigarette behind my back, not caring anymore; they know about the interdinsional bag anyway. At the latest now, they will discover that cigarettes could be inside as well, especially already-lit ones.
"It can happen. We don’t know the reason; maybe it’s because we are inside so strange world now. You are not the only one; my grandma is the sa; she also has so strange mories." I pointed at the old dragon, who naturally understood that we had to keep quiet about what we knew.
"Really? That’s normal?" Red Hair asked, and I nodded. My grandma did the sa after giving everyone, including , a glare.
Red Hair described the deer’s mories of its death, which should be one of the monster deer parents that was probably killed by Henry, but apparently, she was unable to identify him as the killer, speaking only of a dark figure that stabbed it endlessly.
She also explained that it was the sa deer that had attacked them on their way to the cave. But she left out that it had nearly eaten her, yet she escaped because she had pushed the girl, whose corpse I found later, though I already called her out for that.
Anyway, had that really been enough to establish a link?
