Chapter 121 - 121. Speech
Very good.
This doesn't help with my trust issues.
WHAT THE FUCK.
I smashed Henry's head that sohow ca strangely close to
with the handle of the gun I had conjured up, hard enough for him to pass out and fall on top of .
We had taken a pause inside the big open space. The other group was eating, and watched the incident of
getting attacked by my dog with apparent fear and curiosity.
Well, with the exception of Chelsea, who stood helplessly to the side, sohow not daring to co over.
"WHY DO YOUR CHILDREN CONSTANTLY TRY TO KILL MY GRANDSON? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR FAMILY?" My grandmother beat the unconscious Henry on top of , with her walking stick while addressing the pale middle-aged pair, making
laugh.
She knows very well that they are not Henry's real parents, but she conveniently ignored the fact to pour her wrath onto these two innocent and already shaken people.
"Is that the usually 'aggressive behavior'?" I asked Mr. Devin raspily. My throat had healed from the fight with the little Vampire-Henrietta, only to be now damaged by my dog.
Henry's father ca to his unconscious son, pulling him away from .
"No. That would be too aggressive. They would usually sotis wake from the daze to make a ruckus, but not actually try to kill soone. I don't understand why it is like this." He sighed deeply, his thin body looking as if breaking down every mont.
His wife stood with her daughter, holding her tightly, as if she needed an anchor to keep herself going.
Henriettas was also one of the people who looked on, just that she did so without any emotions, her face was still full of her own blood, and her clothes, which were an outdated long dress with leggings, were also all red, only that this was from my blood.
Henry was again placed against the cave wall, and my grandmother had brought
water, which she threw at
unkindly.
I needed more rest, more food, and then I could continue to flip the coin, finding out if we had discovered a way to fight the shadows in the future, which was better than experinting on Henry. But it wasn't safe in here.
The torso hill showed that this cave was used by so monster deer. It would probably only be safe in the crater, inside one of these houses, but on our way there we could et monsters as well.
If we could barricade the cave entrance, maybe we could stay. On the other hand, we needed more food and, more importantly, water.
I am truly scared to overuse my ability again and ending up helpless again.
"We are going in ten minutes, everyone get ready!" I said loudly, finding my throat to be okay again.
"Where to?" Redhead asked grumpily.
"To where we ca from. To where the food is." I said, and that shut her up.
I also ate a snack before asking Henry's father to help
to get Henry on my back once again.
"I can carry him." He said, but I shook my head. This man looked like he would break into half under Henry's weight, besides, it is my dog we are talking about.
The day had been shitty enough, so I hoped that we would neither et monsters nor for Henry to wake up and go around choking people again, especially if the people included .
Hadn't that been an excellent opportunity for him to go and choke his sister to his heart's content?
But nooo.
Why is my life like this? Goddamn, give
a break.
Jeyjey was again carried by Baggy Jeans, and my grandmother walked beside
with her gun ready to fire.
While we walked down the passage that led to the forest, with Henry on my back, I flipped the coin and found the woman not turning eerie.
I spoke to the group behind .
"If a monster shows up, you can hide, but don't run away! We have guns and will take them down, if necessary. Don't run around randomly; don't shove soone in front of a monster to save your skin—yes, I am talking about you, red hair! Don't leave people behind—and double yes, I am talking about you, Baggy Jeans!" I didn't turn around, but my voice was loud enough for him to understand. Now was the perfect mont for a speech because the barrier to the forest was soundproof.
"We have so kind of radar with us, that shows us if a monster shows up. If I say stop, then you stop. If I say quiet, you shut the fuck up. Nobody will be left behind, nobody will be put in danger, there is no cannon fodder among us, got it?" There were no cheers or anything, but just embarrassing silence. Well, I figured that no leader-halo had descended on .
"We will go speedily, we will make it to the crater alive, and then we're gonna eat our fill! Everyone got it?" I went louder, trying it a second ti.
"Yes!" Chelsea at least sounded a bit pumped up.
"Can you give us a gun?" Red-hair voice reached , she was apparently forgetting that she had been just called out because of her behavior, or she knew that her image was already ruined, so it didn't matter if she got cheeky.
"Nope, we only have two." I said.
"Shouldn't soone other than the old lady have a gun?" She murmured from the very back, but I heard her just fine.
"Did you hear that, grandma? What to do if soone asks so charmingly for your gun?" I asked loud enough for everyone to hear, while chuckling.
"The gun is a gift from my grandson, but I can spare her a few bullets." The old dragon smiled, showing off her new teeth.
"Sparing the bullets to her head or her heart?" I asked.
"Both."
"But grandma, what if you have no ammunition left for the monsters?" I asked her in fake shock.
"Don't I have you?" She scoffed, and I nodded, repositioning Henry, who had slid down on my back a bit.
"Damn right! You have , and I, have the second gun." I emphasized the last part so that they would hopefully understand.
Neither my grandma nor I were ever to be touched.
After our little dialogue, the silence behind us was more prominent than before, and I halted because we were one step away from the exit of the cave.
"Mr. Devin, co here for a minute, please." He was already behind
and my grandma, while his wife and daughter were more in the back.
He obliged and ca closer.
"Mr. Devin. If your daughter acts up and endangers anyone, I will shoot her." I looked at his blue eyes and hoped he would understand.
"Haven't you rendered her handicapped enough?" His jaw clenched, and he looked at
like a bitter enemy. Okay, now we know that he is as dumb as his daughter is.
Mr. Devin's' facade soon collapsed, and he and he massaged the root of his nose in exhaustion.
"If she attempts to harm soone, it will be on
to stop her."
Hmm, very good. I nodded at him before hollering to the back.
"We will go now, everyone rember what I have said and behave!"
