anwhile, at the Hawkin Mansion, Primo stood in front of his father with a grim expression.

"Lord Father, the connection with Fourth Hawkling has been severed..." the eldest son reported.

His words, however, were t with the coldest of responses:

"And?" the old man asked.

Primo's heart grew frigid upon hearing his father's reply.

In the early stages of their lives, he and Fourth Hawkling—whose na was Fia—along with a few of their other half-siblings, were periodically checked on by their father.

Dweezel Hawkins was world-renowned and a busy man.

Yet, he still made ti for them, ensuring their training progressed smoothly and that they got along with one another.

It was far from the warmth of a true family, but it was, by far, the warst of tis in Primo's life.

Sadly, as they grew older, the visits from their father beca less and less frequent.

Distance also began to form between him and his siblings—so eventually developing into animosity toward him and their other siblings.

Fia, however, was the one he liked the most among all his other siblings.

Even as they grew older, their relationship remained neutral.

They at least greeted each other sowhat warmly—especially compared to how the other siblings scowled at one another.

Now, the last vestige of family ties Primo had been extinguished by the enemy, yet it seed his father couldn't care less.

"Nothing, Lord Father. I rely thought I should report the loss of a resource, that's all," he said, his expression turning distant and indifferent, though his clenched fists betrayed his calm exterior.

"I see. You may leave, then," Dweezel replied.

Without another word, Primo left.

He, too, knew that Fourth had stayed only for her own gains.

She had already achieved her goals and had been summoned back about a month ago.

Her decision to stay, and ultimately her death, were entirely her fault—and unnecessary.

Still, Primo couldn't help but shiver at the thought that the death of a daughter was t with nothing but cold indifference.

That was the day he truly realized how little he ant to his Lord Father.

If his likable little half-sister was treated like garbage, Primo could only imagine how little he was valued—probably just slightly better than Fia.

Yes, like a slightly more valuable piece of trash.

How heartwarming and inspiring...

Nevertheless, this was his fate, and his only choice now was to seize the position of heir, caring for nothing and no one but himself.

This was the only way he would be able to secure a better life for himself.

Days quickly went by.

Preparations on both sides proceeded smoothly, and the ti for the unsealing operation drew closer.

Armies swelled in size, the most cunning sches were devised, and new devices were developed—all to tip the scales in their favor.

Anything was fair ga, and morality? It began to matter far less than it should.

After all, the world was at stake.

anwhile, the lost Cobra elites were shockingly assigned to the Black Dawn Unit, which had suddenly ballooned in size from a re 300 to 2,100 mbers.

They were initially unruly, finding it difficult to accept the orders of the commander who killed theirs.

Although both Cobra and Viper turned out to be traitors, the elites still felt a stronger bond of camaraderie with them than with their new unit.

Hence, the first few days of the new Black Dawn Unit were an utter disaster, with conflicts erupting from every corner of the training hall.

So mbers outright ignored the Black Dawn Unit's training regin, choosing instead to follow the one Cobra had given them as a sign of loyalty to their departed commander.

They refused to believe he was a traitor, especially not when the organization didn't even explain things to them.

Naturally, Ian did his best to remain patient, finding them rather pitiful.

But of course, the vice commander was no saint.

His patience most definitely had its limits.

In the end, the conflict was only resolved through a unit-versus-unit skirmish, with only the captains and elites taking part.

It would have been unfair to the Cobra Unit, which lacked commanders, should Shye and Ian have joined.

This, however, only happened after Ian had a rather deep conversation with Hylos—the Cobra Unit's strongest fighter and unofficial commander.

As it turned out, they simply weren't convinced that the Black Dawn Unit was stronger than them.

They acknowledged that Shye was a monster, but they refused to believe they were inferior to the Black Dawn elites.

So, from what Hylos implied, the only way to make them listen was to give them a chance to vie for leadership positions within the Black Dawn Unit.

In short, they didn't want to be absorbed without the opportunity to try absorbing the other unit instead.

Shye naturally gave them the chance they wanted, allowing a few other likable commanders, along with the old man, to bear witness to the challenge and the results of the skirmish.

Sanada even crafted a low-grade soul contract that would subtly torture the soul of anyone who disobeyed it.

This ensured that Hylos and his n could no longer cause trouble if they lost.

The condition was simple: if Hylos and his n won, he would beco the Black Dawn Unit's commander, Shye would be demoted to vice commander, and his captains would be prioritized for leadership positions.

Additionally, they would rena the unit the Hylos Unit should they succeed.

On the other hand, if the Black Dawn elites won, then they would wholeheartedly follow Shye's arrangents from then on.

The contract seed unfair to Shye at first, especially since he could easily beat the crap out of Hylos and the Cobra elites who refused to listen.

However, such a thod wouldn't allow them to fully accept him and his elites as their comrades, which could lead to major problems during the unsealing operation.

It didn't matter to him whether the contract was unfair anyway.

After all, he was sure that his unit would win.

Sure enough, with seven commanders and the Supre One watching, Shirley and the others effortlessly defeated Hylos and his n.

Thanks to Shye's approach of offering the carrot after giving them a taste of the stick, the Cobra Unit was fully integrated before the second simulation practice.
