Two dragons—one vermillion, one silver—shot towards each other.
Zephyrus was slightly larger than nas.
However, the latter was not fazed at all, even sporting an excited smile on his face as he opened the battle up with a good old fireball.
Unfortunately, the Wind Dragon Emperor was unlike the other wind dragons.
Zephyrus' mighty wings flapped, causing a single wind cutter—just the sa size as the fireball—to whistle across the air, accompanied by a howling gale.
It was even smaller than a single one of the thirty wind cutters fired by the elder wind dragons.
But of course, the lone wind cutter wasn't as simple as it seed.
It was a dense condensation of wind energy and was even sharper than the thirty wind cutters of the elder wind dragons combined.
Soon, the two projectiles clashed, leaving nas flabbergasted at the results.
He hurriedly flapped his wings to raise his altitude and dodge the incoming wind cutter, his fireball sliced cleanly in half.
The Wind Dragon Emperor gazed triumphantly, a cold, proud smirk spreading across his face.
However, the smile on Zephyrus' face didn't last long.
He wasn't pleased to find that his challenger was unfazed by the small defeat.
nas, used to countless defeats, would naturally not care about such a trivial loss.
The elder fire dragon simply ensured that he had successfully dodged the wind cutter and that it wouldn't change its trajectory before shifting his attention back to his opponent.
The next mont, flas ignited from nas' tail and wings, boosting his flight speed and catching the Wind Dragon Emperor off guard.
Still, although it was impossible for Zephyrus to evade, his raw attributes were more or less equal to nas'.
He could choose to simply extend his arms and catch the extended claws of his elder fire dragon challenger with his own.
And that was what the Wind Dragon Emperor did.
The forward montum gave nas additional power, leaving Zephyrus grunting as he was slightly forced back upon locking claws with his opponent.
Nonetheless, slightly shaken internal organs and numb arms were all that Zephyrus suffered.
The damage done by the unexpected fiery charge was barely a minor one.
nas, however, was not only slightly older than the Wind Dragon Emperor but was also way more experienced in terms of one-on-one combat.
As though everything was going according to plan, the elder fire dragon suddenly weakened the force he was using, causing Zephyrus to slightly jerk forward due to the sudden, unexpected, and almost instantaneous move.
nas then took advantage of the situation and sank his teeth deep into the Wind Dragon Emperor's shoulders, causing rugged silver scales to shatter and scatter everywhere.
Watching the unfolding situation, the wind dragons were horrified.
"Lord Zephyrus!" They exclaid, almost in unison.
nas also thought that he was about to deal a heavy injury to his opponent.
However, he quickly found out that despite his race, Zephyrus was not so easy to slay.
With a violent jerk of his head that unfailingly tore the flesh and limbs of the subordinate wind dragons, nas was shocked to find that, although his teeth sank deeper, he couldn't tear Zephyrus' flesh apart.
Nonetheless, the Wind Dragon Emperor was hurt, but he was also enraged.
The elder fire dragon realized he had underestimated his opponent's toughness and quickly tried to release his grip, unwilling to give Zephyrus any chance to counterattack.
Unfortunately, he was too late.
The furious emperor had already punched forward, shattering nas' seasoned vermillion scales as his right arm sank deep into the elder fire dragon's body, narrowly missing his dragon heart.
If not for nas' attempt to get out of the counterattack's way on ti, he would've died right then and there.
Nonetheless, the narrow brush with death didn't faze the fiery challenger, violently swiping his claws at the Wind Dragon Emperor's face.
Silver scales once again shattered and were scraped off Zephyrus' face, causing him to lose his balance and montarily plumt to the ground.
However, the emperor quickly halted his descent with a mighty flap of his wings.
anwhile, nas vomited blood, leaving Shye worried and hesitating about whether he should stop the fight now.
But then, a wild laughter resounded across the skies of the Windswept Plains.
"Hahahaha! I never imagined that with your cowardly nature, you'd give this much trouble!" nas roared. "But this is how it should be. The heavens would weep if an emperor were dethroned so easily!"
Hearing his opponent's laugh, Zephyrus narrowed his eyes as he spat out blood.
The damned elder dragon was already bleeding quite heavily both from external and internal wounds.
Yet, the arrogant bastard still had the gall to laugh and act all high and mighty.
He, the emperor, was being looked down on?
Unacceptable!
"You're already dying, yet you still talk so much crap instead of saving what little breath you have. I'll shut you up for good!" the Wind Dragon Emperor roared, summoning four enormous tornadoes that rushed toward nas.
The elder fire dragon rely sneered at the wind tornadoes, conjuring four of his own, each wreathed in flas, and sent them hurtling toward their counterparts.
It didn't take long for the tornadoes of wind and fla to clash, the latter narrowly losing.
Nonetheless, the tornadoes fired by Zephyrus were weakened so severely that they didn't even manage to deal the smallest bit of damage to the heavily wounded nas, dissipating as soon as they made contact with his vermillion scales.
The emperor, however, had the advantage when it ca to mana reserves.
The next mont, countless silver magic circles appeared around Zephyrus as he roared, thunderclouds gathering overhead and a storm looming.
Wind cutters, wind cannons, and tornadoes then materialized one after another, creating a fierce windstorm as rain began to pour.
nas gritted his teeth at the horrifying sight.
This was the power of a Wind Dragon Emperor.
While the elder fire dragon wasn't intimidated in the slightest, his flaming form seed to be drowning in the storm, symbolizing the last shred of hope he had—both for ascending to the rank of emperor and for surviving.
He looked like a small firefly in the boundless darkness.
