Hale tried salvaging the situation by recalling his strongest guard captain, Targon, from the main entrance and sending him and his elites to reinforce the guards stationed at the south entrance.

His order was for the man and his elites to reclaim the Communication Room and the Ergency Teleporter Room.

Unfortunately, by the ti the guard captain arrived, the squadron that had attacked the west entrance had already joined forces with the one from the south entrance.

This led to an overwhelming number of terrorists guarding the target rooms.

To make matters worse, they were fully committed to defending the key areas, going so far as to establish defensive formations and erect temporary fortifications.

Despite repeated taunts from the guard squadrons, none of them advanced to attack.

Nonetheless, Targon and his elites led the way and attempted to regain control of the two rooms, though they failed in the end due to the two elite squadron leaders sohow managing to fend off the monstrous guard captain by helping each other.

Ultimately, the failure stemd from their lack of preparation for the attack and the fact that most of the guards had been reassigned to defend against the monster hordes, leaving too few to adequately protect the headquarters.

The damned terrorists were just too good at diverting defensive forces and concealing their true intentions before striking at their true targets like venomous vipers.

As a result, the terrorists and the guards were locked in a stalemate at the southwest area of the headquarters.

This, though, did not an that the guards were winning, as the squadron on the west entrance had already been forced to retreat after suffering horrendous losses.

Furthermore, due to Targon’s absence, Maverick and his n easily tore through the ranks of the guards defending the main entrance.

They urgently needed reinforcents.

Luckily, a small group of righteous adamantite-ranked adventurers—around 350 in total—rallied together to assist, launching an attack on Maverick and his n from behind and temporarily halting their advance.

This gave Hale enough ti to fire a distress signal into the sky, visible to Yon Augennian champions, titled adventurers, and heroes, no matter how far they were from Yon Augenn City.

Upon seeing the signal, the twenty champions, ten titled adventurers, and three heroes, who were out on missions, responded as best they could, with so using their ergency return scrolls to swiftly return.

Unfortunately, this was a huge mistake.

The Ergency Teleportation Room was, after all, under the control of terrorists.

Nonetheless, most of them were quite smart, opting instead to return through regular teleportation channels scattered across Yon Augenn City.

Ultimately, only five champions and two titled adventurers failed to realize that Hale’s distress signal could an the headquarters was under attack and that the Ergency Teleportation Room might already be in the hands of the attackers.

As a result, these seven now stood back-to-back, gritting their teeth as hundreds of bows, elental staffs, and swords were aid nacingly at them.

Soon, the seven decided to surrender to the terrorists. There was a chance to escape as long as they were alive.

With strange, tallic collars fastened around their necks, the captured agents lost consciousness, enabling the squadron leader to transport them back to the Hadean Varsa Headquarters’ prison using a unique void teleportation spell created by Sanada himself.

Today, Yon Augenn City lost seven of its most important defenders to terrorists.

anwhile, the other seven champions, five titled adventurers, and two heroes, who had returned through the regular channels, sprinted through the now chaotic streets of Yon Augenn City, their faces etched with concern.

Given the chaos and emptiness of the streets, the terrorists had already broken through, and the horrifying roars from the gates suggested the city was under attack by monster hordes.

As for the threat level of the hordes, they didn’t have ti to assess.

Their priority for now was to respond to the head director’s distress call.

Soon, they reached the area near the headquarters, where a few of them reconnected before making their way toward the nearby entrances, the sounds of intense combat echoing from within.

Luckily for Hale, the two heroes arrived at the entrances that needed the most help—the main and south entrances.

Almost instantly, the hero at the main entrance—Baradur Pentagon of the Holy Sword—spotted Maverick, lunging towards him with vicious intent and a wintry gaze.

"How dare you foolish terrorists invade Yon Augenn City? Prepare to die!" the massive, muscular middle-aged man with blonde hair and a cross-shaped scar on his left cheek shouted, raising his golden-glowing tachi.

Combat wasn’t Maverick’s strong point.

However, he couldn’t just flee like a wuss, could he?

Drawing his katana, Maverick lunged forward to et Baradur’s tachi.

Not a hint of fear could be seen in his eyes.

*CLANG!*

The blades of their weapons clashed, and as expected, Maverick lost the exchange.

He was hurled back to where he had co from, sliding several ters. It took him a few seconds to regain his footing.

Naturally, Baradur Pentagon was pleased with the outco of the exchange, believing that by defeating the terrorist commander in that single confrontation, he had significantly shattered the enemy’s morale.

He intentionally refrained from using any skills to demonstrate the vast difference in power between himself and the terrorist commander, making it clear to the terrorists that their leader stood no chance against him.

Maverick, though, chose to courageously face the hero exactly because he observed that the attack was a regular one, and there was a high probability he could survive the clash with the help of a sword skill.

Among the organization’s elites, it was well-known that he was not particularly strong in combat.

Hence, contrary to Baradur’s expectations, Maverick’s survival of an attack by a renowned Yon Augennian Hero not only allowed him to show his courage but also boosted the terrorists’ morale.

Baradur had not accomplished a single advantageous feat.

Realizing this, the middle-aged hero was displeased, charging once more in an attempt to decapitate the terrorist commander in one swift strike.

Unfortunately for him, they were not the only ones who had reinforcents.
