A seemingly grim silence shrouded the entire room as Sanada gnashed his teeth and clenched his fists hard, the two youngsters waiting for the old baldy to control his emotions.
After a few seconds and a deep breath, Sanada finally spoke, slightly easing the heavy atmosphere:
"That’s what happened, and that’s why everyone believes that pretentious bastard. We fell for his trap and paid for it, though two of our forr comrades sided with him in the first confrontation…" The old man recounted with anger, sadness, and regret.
"I see…but how can I use this as proof to those I will recruit?" Shye asked in confusion.
The battle was indeed a great watch but he didn’t know how it would help him convince his underlings and close friends to join his cause.
"Ah, right. I forgot. Here’s another recording crystal that contains footage of the mont a mana dungeon was prevented from forming."
Shye squinted at the recording, watching as a white wisp of energy rged with the familiar black wisp surrounding the Black Dragon, stopping the formation of a mana dungeon.
’Hoh, so those small bumps of soil were potential mana dungeons, huh?’ he mused.
Your journey continues at .Côm
He had encountered several of those on his missions, but he hadn’t realized they were budding mana dungeons.
Monts later, Shye’s attention was drawn to another recording, apparently captured at a different ti but sohow using the sa crystal.
This ti, only a white wisp was visible, which Shye assud to be a manifestation of the White Dragon’s divinity.
It floated above a budding mana dungeon.
Unfortunately, without the black wisp, the dungeon slowly continued to expand, eventually forming a full entrance after about ten minutes of fast-forwarded playback.
This was the proof Shye needed.
With this, he could persuade his underlings and friends. However…
’This recording likely isn’t enough for people to believe the old man over Dweezel…’ He pondered with a frown.
It served as compelling evidence for those inclined to believe him but was less convincing for the staunch supporters of the greatest hero.
If they wanted to sway the WAA to help them instead of Dweezel, they had to capture a recording of him admitting to his sches.
’And how the hell are we supposed to do that? There’s no way that scheming old bastard would make a mistake like that…’ Shye inwardly cursed, deeply lost in his thoughts.
"Aihh, aren’t you two overthinking things?" the lazy youngster, Reginald, suddenly said, snapping both the old man and Shye out of their thoughts. "Isn’t the agenda for now to recruit your friends, Crowley? What’s the problem, then?"
Indeed, the lazy bastard was right. There was no need to overthink things.
For now, it would be best for Shye to focus on growing his unit and let the two old n sche against each other.
"You’re right, there’s no issue. Old man, I’d also like to request unrestricted access to the headquarters for myself and him."
Hearing his other request, the old man frowned, seemingly sinking into his world of thoughts again.
After a few monts, he shifted his attention back to the young duo.
"This is not the right mont to give you unrestricted access, settle for return scrolls for now." The old man said, this ti making Shye frown.
"Why? Don’t you trust us yet? Then why bother using us if you don’t?" Shye said, slightly annoyed.
"No, that’s not it. To gain unrestricted access, you must have a Hadean Varsa crest engraved on your body, and now isn’t the right ti for either of you. Here are five return scrolls each—make sure you hide them well or there will be trouble," Sanada warned sternly.
Hadean Varsa, Sanada Eiichiro’s organization, was the most notorious terrorist group in the entire world.
It would be a miracle if people didn’t recognize the crests once they were engraved on their bodies. It was simply too dangerous and impractical, especially since they needed to stay in their guilds for a while longer.
Shye wasn’t stupid. He understood the old man’s decision.
Hence, he decided to accept the scrolls for now.
’I could just ask for more once I run out, anyway…’ He thought.
"Well then, old man, send the resources to the secret establishnt in Valenzia City, I shall start training. Let know a week ahead of ti if you will attack Dweezel. I need to prepare, after all"
After Sanada nodded in agreent, Shye retrieved two special return scrolls from the inventory and handed one over to Reginald.
"You can collect the resources a week from now."
The old man’s final words echoed as Shye dissolved into mana particles, reappearing at the secret establishnt in Valenzia City shortly afterward.
"So, Regi, what are your plans? I’ll spend a week training in a death zone and then co back to collect the resources the old man sent. I’ll make sure you get your share then." Shye asked and explained probingly.
He was growing increasingly frustrated with Reginald, who, despite being a few years older, spent half the week training and the other half lounging around.
If this continues, Siegfried and the others might not only catch up to him but also surpass him in combat power, rendering him useless by the ti the battle arrives.
"Oh, ? Do what I always do, I guess…Why?" Regi asked, confused.
"Nothing, it’s just that you’re lazing around too much, no? Would you be fine by the ti we have to clash with Dweezel’s forces?" Shye said bluntly.
It was better to raise the issues now than ignore them and suffer later.
"Huh? What do you an? Aren’t I always training? Didn’t the old man tell you my unique training thod?"
"You’re… training? How can you say you’re training when you spend half the week lounging on the division lounge’s couches?"
"Hahahaha!" Reginald rely laughed in amusent at his reply, realizing that Shye was probably growing dissatisfied with him due to how lazy he always looked.
It was understandable, though, as his training thod was truly too unique.
"So that’s how you see , huh? Well, if others think the sa way, it might work to my advantage as it would allow to slip under their radar," the young man said, leaving Shye thoroughly confused. "I think it’s ti. How about a quick spar, Shye Crowley of the Black Dawn?"
