"Y-YOU!! YOU'RE SHYE CROWLEY!! YOU OWN THIS…THIS MONSTROSITY?!" The cornered adventurer exclaid hysterically, extrely horrified.

"Yes, I am indeed Shye Crowley, and this is my tad monster, cute little Nookie," Shye said in a playful tone, masking the slight anger in his heart magnificently.

"May I ask why have you attacked my tad monster?" He continued with a threatening undertone.

"W-W-WE DIDN'T ATTACK YOUR MONSTER! IT ATTACKED US FIRST W-WE ONLY DEFENDED OURSELVES!"

The adventurer tried to lie his way through the dangerous situation he was in.

However, how could it work on Shye, who gave Nookie an order to not cause trouble for the adventurers at any cost, except for when it needed to defend itself?

"Hoh, is that so?" Shye said, circling the cornered adventurer. "You see, I ordered Nookie to not cause any trouble for adventurers. It is only allowed to hunt monstrous creatures to increase the strength of its corpse army."

"That doesn't an it will follow your orders completely! I've known people with tad monsters, even low-ranked ones, and those monsters rarely obeyed them. As for your monster, it's likely (S-) rank or higher, so how can you be so sure it will follow your commands?" The adventurer desperately explained, making a rather logical and valid point.

Well, from the viewpoint of ordinary adventurers, that is.

Shye was confident in his control over Nookie's fate, as the slave mark was fully completed, allowing him to kill the evolved Necrollin with a re snap of his fingers.

*PAH!*

The crisp and satisfying sound of a slap that had squarely landed on soone's cheek reverberated across the forest, ringing like a heavenly lody inside Shye's head.

He was getting better and better at rearranging soone's face.

The adventurer who was slapped was naturally sent hurtling towards the nearby tree, face first.

"Mmph! I-I'm bleeding! My nose!" The scout-class adventurer squealed like a pig, looking at Shye shortly after. "Why did you slap ?! Isn't my point valid?!"

"Ahem! There's a mosquito on your face. I just helped you kill it."

Shye's reply caused Zeth, who was usually very serious, to raise her brows.

The duchess was sensitive to deceit and could imdiately tell that her master was lying.

However, since it was a minor lie, Zeth chose not to question him, inadvertently sparing Shye's falsehood from being exposed.

"You could've just t–"

"Ahem! Aren't I the one doing the interrogations here?!"

*PAH!*

Shye slapped the adventurer, a fair bit lighter than the first one

"If you dare speak one more ti, I'll slap your face clean off!" He threatened, continuing his interrogation shortly after.

"My slave mark is absolute, and I can kill my tad monster with a snap of my fingers. So, are you saying it wouldn't fully obey ? Are you calling a liar, or do you think I'm weak? Which is it?"

For a while, the adventurer couldn't answer as he could feel that neither was the correct answer; and that he would rely suffer another slap if he spoke.

Moreover, Shye threatened him that if he spoke one more ti, then Shye would slap his face clean off.

Thus, the adventurer chose to remain silent as he believed that it was the correct thing to do.

Only…

*PAH!*

He didn't expect that a vicious slap would still co flying towards the right side of his face. Read new adventures at My Virtual Library Empire

"Why aren't you answering?!" Shye asked threateningly, compelling Zeth to finally speak telepathically.

'Master, I believe the weakling isn't speaking because you told him not to. Otherwise, you would slap his face clean off.'

'O-Oh, did I? Well, no matter. I'm bullying the guy anyway for daring to attack Nookie. This is rely…uhh…yes! well-deserved punishnt!'

'I see, then you can continue slapping him, master.'

Slightly embarrassed, Shye spoke to the poor cornered adventurer.

"S-Speak! I allow you to!"

However, the adventurer feared that this was rely another trap so the guy decided to co clean.

"I-I'm sorry! I lied for the sake of survival! I was rely selected to join the purge party! I didn't even know that we would be hunting a tad monster! Please! Forgive !" The adventurer kowtowed repeatedly, begging for forgiveness.

"If you could find it in your heart to release , I promise no one will ever know what happened! I'll simply report back to the guild that the monster was stronger than expected and that the entire party was wiped out!"

Hearing the adventurer's words, Shye frowned.

It seed that Nookie's training ground had been mistaken for his lair, and his notoriety was spreading faster than anticipated.

They would need to relocate soon or risk being targeted by an even larger purge party.

He already got what he needed from the adventurer, so he quickly handed the guy over to Nookie.

"Heh, why are you apologizing to ? Apologize to my tad monster for destroying its beloved puppets. If it lets you go, then I will too."

Asking for a vengeful necrollin's forgiveness, who was Shye kidding?

"Shye Crowley! So these are your true colors?! You've rely toyed with ! Die!" The adventurer finally snapped.

After doing everything he could to survive, it seed impossible, as obtaining a vengeful Necrollin's forgiveness was nothing but a pipe dream.

So, the adventurer decided that if he was going down, he would drag the illustrious Shye Crowley down to hell with him.

Who knows?

Maybe when people discovered their corpses lying side by side, he would go down in history as the man who managed to kill Shye Crowley, the future hero of Valenzia.

Unfortunately, killing Shye was even more of a castle in the air than obtaining Nookie's forgiveness; and since the bastard had already released killing intent, there was no going back.

After easily parrying the man's attack, Shye grabbed his throat with a cold smile.

"Hoh, now you dare attack ?" Shye said icily, breaking the man's wrist and retrieving the dagger from his right hand.

"AAAAARRGHH!!" The man scread in agony, eliciting a sadistic smile from Nookie's sinister face.

"Nookie, this guy's all yours."

"Hehehe, thank you, master!"

At the exact mont, the biting darkness enveloped the world, and a shrill scream of terror pierced through it, gradually fading into the night.

Soon after, the forest returned to its eerie stillness and silence, masking the fierce, violent, and bloody battle that had just taken place.
