Almost half a year has passed since Nookie and Zeth sparred.
"Congratulations! Sir Crowley. You are now officially a Mithril-ranked adventurer!"
"Thank you, Receptionist Anna. Well then, I have sowhere to go so I'll be leaving."
"Take care, Sir Crowley."
In the past five months, Shye focused on improving his strength and furthering his career as an adventurer by relentlessly training and taking on quests.
As a result, he blasted through the ranks from mid-erald to a recently promoted mithril, courageously taking on (S-) and (S) ranked quests with the help of his familiar, depending on quest availability.
If there were plenty of (S) ranked quests available, he would take on one of those; otherwise, he would opt for an (S-) ranked quest.
He didn't want to offend all of the adamantite-ranked adventurers in his guild as even though he could deal with the consequences, his division mbers couldn't, except for a select few.
Shye had been an excellent division leader, not forgetting to fulfill his duties despite grinding to improve his combat techniques, his attributes, and his experience, for 42 hours every two days with the help of natural recovery pills.
This resulted in his division being promoted to a three-star division, granting them a higher mber capacity, a new spacious division lounge, and higher-ranked division quests—though they were still subpar.
Currently, the Flashy Ravens Rising was still yet to reach the 300-mber limit, and they were still actively recruiting.
However, since they were already finding explosive success, Shye made it harder for new recruits to pass their assessnt as not only a good heart and personality were required but also great combat or support capabilities.
Yet, despite the increased difficulty of being accepted as a mber, Raven's Blade guildsn still queued.
Why?
The first reason: their division's redeemable rewards were simply too insane compared to even the four-star and a few five-star divisions.
Rumor has it that the stash even included a few Mithril-ranked ido Brand weapons and equipnt sets, along with so super rare attribute enhancent tonics and potions that can't be purchased in consumable shops without the highest tier of mbership.
It was a well-known fact that all the rewards in Shye's division were absurdly difficult to obtain in a real-world scenario.
Second, those who managed to join the Flashy Ravens Rising early were now blasting through the ranks like reborn phoenixes.
The future was just way too bright for the division.
Heck, there were even a few Adamantites, who could even start their own divisions, who tried to join Shye's instead.
Their condescending attitudes led to their rejection, though, leaving them fuming and swearing as they left the division lounge in embarrassnt.
The last reason was that most adventurers yearned for the brotherly camaraderie shown by those from Flashy Ravens Rising towards each other.
Most divisions have a highly competitive yet ineffective developnt structure, resulting in unhealthy internal rivalries.
In Shye's division, there was no such thing—only brotherhood, laughter, and shared sadness.
It was a refreshing atmosphere to be in.
Unfortunately, only the lucky select few could join, causing them to have massive regrets for not joining early—so of them even mocking those who did in the past.
…Leaving the guild headquarters in a hurry, Shye didn't even have the chance to greet his division mbers.
However, despite the seemingly cold treatnt, there wasn't a hint of negative emotions in the hearts of Shye's division mbers.
Continue your adventure with empire
They knew his true personality well and understood that he must be genuinely in a hurry not to have even noticed them.
A few monts later, Shye arrived at Valenzia Arena, slightly out of breath, while Zeth, who had transford into a black bracelet, remained attached to his left wrist the whole ti.
Her appearance was way too striking for her to be galloping around the city.
"Huff…Did I make it?" Shye muttered in slight exhaustion as he looked at the main stage from the lower box arena seats.
"Eusford Academy needs just one more win to secure the championship! Colzen, on the other hand, still needs two victories. However, it doesn't seem like it will co to that—unless Colzen's ace, Maia Crowley, can turn the situation around!"
"Coincidentally, she finds herself in the sa situation her older brother, Shye Crowley, faced in the Grand Finals of the Adventurer Academy Competition two years ago, wherein three opponents remained for the other team while only she remained for Colzen. Now, will she be able to withstand the assault of this (A) ranked simulated Khimaira until all three from Eusford are eliminated?!"
Bart's vibrant voice echoed across the arena, bringing excitent to the hearts of the Eusford fans and slight anxiety to the Colzen Fans.
Last year, Colzen Academy was the defending champion.
Unfortunately, they crashed out in the quarterfinals with a 3-1 defeat, shocking many onlookers.
However, upon reflection, many realized that Colzen's position was still precarious, as it was only Shye's generation that had managed to achieve such success.
It would be impossible for them to be as consistently strong as the Eusford, Aslan, and Freia academies.
Nevertheless, the academy was making progress, having consistently reached the championship matches for three years now, with another appearance in the grand finals led by Shye Crowley's younger sister, Maia Crowley.
She was as fierce as her older brother if not more as many already realized by now that she enjoyed duels, leaving even the Aslan, Eusford, and Freia representatives wishing to not get matched up with her in a one-on-one.
Well, except for the ace representatives, of course, as they naturally have the pride of an undefeated youngster and would like to test their ttle against others of the sa caliber to see who the strongest was.
As a result, Maia faced Freia Academy's ace representative in a crucial one-on-one match, completely dominating her opponent and aggressively countering every trump card thrown her way.
Thus, despite the current score between Eusford and Colzen being 2-1, Eusford Academy actually knew that this round was their last chance to grab the championship.
Why?
Well, if they lose in this seven-versus-seven survival match against the (A) ranked simulated Khimaira, then one of their representatives, a scout-class student, would have to engage her in a one-on-one match as Eusford's ace representative had already fought in the two-on-two to create this chance for their academy to take down Colzen before their ace, Maia, could even fight in the skirmish-type matches.
Naturally, such a scenario would not be ideal as even the Freia Academy ace representative was thodically dismantled by her without even giving him the slightest chance of victory.
She was simply invincible in a duel.
Hence, they must win now, or try again next year.
Fortunately for them, Colzen's ace, while still formidable against monstrous creatures, wasn't as strong as she was in duels.
It seed like she lacked the sa passion or intensity when facing monsters.
"Senior Maia!! You can do this!!"
"Senior Maia!! We trust you! The rest is up to you!"
"Maia!! Maia!! Maia!!"
In an attempt to help the Colzen ace in what little way they could, the Colzen Crowd started an intense wave of "Maia" chants—possibly their last as it seed like her stamina was starting to run low.
Naturally, there was a reason why Maia was less intense today.
It was her last match in the Adventurer Academy Competition.
Yet, her big brother still hadn't shown up.
She was worried that sothing happened to him.
After all, she was sure that Shye wouldn't miss her matches in the Adventurer Academy Competition if not for unforeseen circumstances.
Hence, when a loud, primal roar resembling those of dragons sounded from the stands, everyone, including the simulated monsters, couldn't help but stop what they were doing and turned their heads to look.
"Maia!! Big Brother is here! Show what you got!"
