'Hmmm…so…it would mostly be scout skills that would help in survival…' Shye mused as he scrolled through nurous scout skills.

After purchasing the epic-tier talent, [Mana's Beloved Child], Shye was left with around 66,000 points. He then earned around 120,000 in the recent qualifiers.

Ard with 180,000 points, Shye was ready to purchase life-saving skills.

After all, his absurd growth speed wouldn't be useful in the afterlife.

'For starters…I need a strong detection-type skill…' He pondered as he scrolled through the scout skills.

Indeed, in the past, he had always struggled because most of the ti, he would either have to track and manually look for his target using his eyes, or defend himself because he was detected first.

A strong detection-type skill would solve most of his problems, especially when out on a solo quest.

'Yeah, let's not be stingy…'

After pondering for a while, Shye decided it would be unwise to purchase weak detection skills as they might do more harm than good.

Hence, he skipped through the common and uncommon scout skills and directly tapped the rare skills option on the side of the holographic system screen.

Noticing how small the scroll bar on the side of the screen was, Shye couldn't help but sigh.

'Haaah…Sh*t…here we go again…'

He knew what was coming: hours of scrolling to check each rare-tier scout skill thoroughly.

And so, he did.

Sadly, this ti, every bit of his expectations ca through as two hours later, he still hadn't found a suitable skill.

'Haaah…I really hate doing this crap…' Shye inwardly lanted.

Well, honestly, checking each skill was fun for him, it was just too tiring and monotonous so he couldn't help but feel bored after a while.

After around ten more minutes, he found a few detection-type skills.

However, for so reason, he wasn't satisfied with them.

Hence, he went ham and checked for unique-tier skills, fully knowing that there was no turning back.

Unique-tier skills and above were just too addicting and one would never feel satisfied—ever again, when looking at skills of the sa type but of lower rarity.

Detection skills were worth it though so although unique-tier skills start at 50,000 points, he was willing to purchase one.

Luckily, this ti, it didn't take long for him to find a suitable unique-tier detection skill—one that would provide him a huge advantage.

===

[(Semi-Passive) Mana Pulse (Unique)] - 70,000 points

Description:

Upon activation, the individual emits mana pulses spanning a 30-ter radius (at level 1) every two seconds. These pulses relay information to the user's brain about their surroundings. Additionally, activating vigilance mode triggers ntal alarms whenever the pulses detect any activity. The pulses extend in all directions, including skyward and beneath the ground.

Mana cost: 2 per pulse

Note: Only the user would be able to see each pulse.

"This one!!" Shye couldn't help but exclaim excitedly.

With this skill, he would no longer have sleepless nights on solo adventures as he could just activate vigilance mode when he sleeps.

Due to his new epic-tier talent, Shye's mana pool had drastically increased.

Such a minuscule mana cost was nothing to him.

Heck, he could even leave the skill active for a week and he wouldn't run out of mana!

[Would you like to learn the skill [(Semi-Passive) Mana Pulse Lv.1 (Unique)] for 70,000 points?] [Y/N]

[Y]

*FWOOSH*

Unexpectedly though, after Shye tapped on [Y], a black aura suddenly enveloped him, bringing panic to his heart.

Luckily, the aura was rather…ta, hence, learning the skill didn't jeopardize his life.

Realizing that nothing huge happened, Shye's heart gradually cald down.

Subsequently, after a few minutes of enduring a slightly uncomfortable, cold sensation coursing through his body, the learning process finally stopped as the black aura slowly subsided.

'Phew…I didn't expect that learning unique-tier skills from the system would cause such a commotion…'

Shye had two unique-tier warrior skills.

However, both skills were learned from skill books which might be the reason why no black aura erged and devoured his body upon learning them.

This was the first ti he learned a unique-tier skill through the system so he was truly caught off guard.

'Will epic-tier skills call upon an even darker and more intense aura?' Shye pondered as he checked his status.

Confirming that the new skill was added to the list of his semi-passive skills, Shye imdiately gave it a try—enthusiastically.

'Mana Pulse!'

Initially, nothing happened, leaving Shye confused as to whether he used the skill correctly or not.

However, two seconds later, the first mana pulse erged from his body, extending in all directions.

The most precise way to describe it would be as a faintly discernible sphere of mana, initially small but expanding steadily until it reached a radius of thirty ters.

Two more seconds later, the second pulse was released, and then, almost simultaneously, the first pulse returned to Shye, bringing with it all sorts of information.

'H-Holy sh*t! This skill is insane!'

Shye was utterly surprised.

The skill told him exactly how many people there were in the inn and its surroundings and their respective locations, yet, the way the skill fed him information was gentle—not overwhelming in the slightest.

'A great skill!' Shye inwardly praised.

He then tried to activate the other mode—a decision which he imdiately regretted.

'Mana Pulse: Vigilance Mode!'

Promptly after the first pulse returned, annoying ntal alarms continuously rang in his head, causing his head to throb in pain due to the information overload.

This ti, the information…didn't enter gently at all, going inside his head as rowdily as possible.

'ARGHH!…W-what the hell! Mana Pulse: Deactivate!'

Luckily, Shye was able to deactivate the skill on ti, otherwise, he would've probably lost consciousness.

Activating such a mode inside the city turned out to be a bad idea.

Still, annoying as vigilance mode might be, Shye was very satisfied with it, elated that he didn't have to go to various safe zones inside an adventurer zone just to rest for the night.

After all, not only was locating safe zones such a hassle, but it was also rather difficult for him to sleep around other adventurers as he believed that they were more dangerous than monstrous creatures, especially when consud by greed.

With this skill, he could simply search for a location with no monstrous creatures and sleep there with vigilance mode active.

Unbeknownst to Shye, purchasing this skill was probably one of the best decisions he had ever made in his life as it would aid him many tis in the future.
