"And now, for our final item!"
Auctioneer ixiu's sweet voice resounded across the auction house as she grabbed the third chest and opened it, revealing its content under the eager and anxious gazes of the auction participants.
"This here is the core of an (S) tier Dream Golem…"
…
"The starting bid for this item is 160,000 silver coins with incrents of 5,000. Everyone may now bid!"
Promptly after Liu ixiu said her piece, the participants roared their bids, desperate to obtain the last item after making yet another call to increase their funds by however little they could, knowing that if they didn't do so, Larzen would obtain the last item.
"180,000!"
…
"210,000!"
…
"300,000!"
In just around seven minutes, the chaotic bidding war for the final auction item reached its peak.
This ti though, people kept bidding even after the price surpassed 330,000 silver coins, making Larzen feel slightly anxious.
'It's ok…It's ok…' Larzen consoled himself, 'these guys probably think I only have 355,000 since I gave up after that bastard from super deluxe room twenty-seven bid 360,000…'
After a few more monts, the bids reached the decisive threshold: 355,000.
"360,000!!!" the man from VIP room 6 exclaid with a proud and triumphant smile, thinking that the last item would fall into his hands.
Hearing how proud the man's voice was, Larzen himself chuckled victoriously.
'Hahaha, you fool. You think I only have 355,000?'
Despite not having saved a substantial amount of silver coins for himself, Larzen didn't have the chance to feel sad, or even care about it.
After all, his life was on the line.
This item was his last chance and he had to do everything to obtain it.
His "boss" permitted him to establish and access as many ergency funds as necessary.
If the guy found out that he had only arranged for a single backup fund and failed to secure one of the three items because he attempted to save silver coins for himself, his life would undoubtedly be forfeit.
Fortunately, 360,000 silver coins seed to be the final barrier between him and (S) tier Dream Golem's core.
"365,000!" Larzen victoriously exclaid, his heart beaming with pride after beating most of the opposition.
Consistently losing to the individuals from the super deluxe rooms truly weighed heavily on his heart.
Thankfully, he managed to reveal his "true strength" in the end.
"365,000! From the gentleman occupying VIP room ten! Is there anyone who wishes to challenge him? Going once?"
"Going twice!"
"380,000!"
Just when the mildly uncertain expression on Larzen's face turned into one of a beaming smile—the world becoming a bit more colorful through the lenses of his eyes—a woman's sudden voice turned everything dark and gray.
For a few monts, Larzen's brain failed to process what just happened—or rather, his brain didn't want to process it.
However, it was inevitable for things to sink in after so ti.
"NO!!!! WHERE THE F*CK DID YOU CO FROM YOU B*TCH?!!! WHY WEREN'T YOU BIDDING EARLIER?! I'LL KILL YOU!! I'LL F*CKING KILL YOU!!!" Larzen raged, his heart and mind couldn't help but urge him to do so, otherwise he would probably go insane.
Well, he didn't appear any less crazy at the mont.
The staff mber designated to serve him couldn't help but look at him with a hint of schadenfreude, Larzen's idiotic act of destroying multiple wine bottles and wine glasses looked extrely satisfying in his eyes.
After all, Larzen would have to pay for all the damages and a small percentage of the proceeds would land in his pockets.
'Hahaha! Yes, rage more, you idiot.' the servant inwardly thought in utter glee.
Larzen's delusional and enraged outburst truly entertained him.
"No! This can't be happening! NO!!!" Larzen continued raging, further amusing the servant.
Surprisingly though, a few monts later, he suddenly cald down as an idea popped up in his head.
That's right! What was he panicking for?
Wasn't this the best outco for him?
His insider agent, Porz, was already acquainted with the appearance of the middle-aged man residing in super deluxe room thirty-six. It would be rather easy for him and his associates to discreetly track the man and eliminate him when the opportunity presented itself.
Once that happens, the pri dragon scale held by the middle-aged man would beco his, enabling him to easily repay the bank loan and pocket an additional 300,000 silver coins.
As Larzen's heart gradually cald down, a faint smile crept back onto his face, causing him to appear ntally unstable in front of the servant, who was astonished by how rapidly his mood shifted.
"And that concludes our 67th White Clover Auction! I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all of you who attended. I hope you all enjoyed the event. Please remain seated, and our staff mbers will ensure an orderly exit for everyone."
The auction's resolution elicited a myriad of emotions from the attendees.
So were as happy as a clam; A few were apathetic, while most were disappointed.
Of course, Shye was among the content ones, desiring nothing more than to embark on a few quests, hunt formidable creatures, and sell loot to accumulate funds.
These savings would then be allocated towards paying for ido's smithing fees.
As Shye daydread inside super deluxe room thirty-six, soone knocked from the entrance/exit on the ground.
"You may co in."
"Hello sir, I'm the one tasked to assist you out of the establishnt. If you are done with your preparations, please follow .
Well, there was nothing for Shye to prepare for except an impending attempt on his life, hence, he swiftly followed the staff mber, leading him out of the room and into one of the six exits of the establishnt.
As the familiar scorching rays of the high-noon sun gently assaulted his skin, Shye smiled as he looked around.
'Now then…when will the bastards strike?'
