Everyone was stupefied for a few monts before all four deans suddenly stood up from their seats, obviously shaken by the news, especially Dean Snowcrest, the warrior course dean.
"Where?! Where is Crowley?!" Dean Snowcrest disappeared from the stage and suddenly reappeared in front of the staff mber, looking all worked up as he gripped the staff mber's shoulders with a little too much force.
Naturally, Maia and Shirley also reappeared beside the staff mber, looking just as worked up as the dean was if not more.
"Where?! Where's big brother?!"
"Where is Crowley?!"
The staff mber started to feel dizzy, evidently overwheld by the presence of three well-known people in the academy naly: Dean Snowcrest, Maia Crowley, and Shirley Locke.
Fortunately, the staff mber's suffering was short-lived as a voice familiar to the dean, Maia, and Shirley, sounded from behind the crowd.
"D-Dean Snowcrest, Maia, Shirley…I'm back…" Shye said awkwardly as he tried to maintain a straight face. He wanted to cry and hug his little sister and his girlfriend but this wasn't the right ti to do it.
Maia and Shirley couldn't care less though as they imdiately threw themselves into his embrace.
"Big brother…Uuuuhh...It's good that you're back…It's good that you're back…"
"Crowley…I was so worried…"
Shye didn't even notice the envious looks of the first-year students, especially the top-ranked first-year students who grew more arrogant after almost one year of training inside the academy.
They felt stronger than ever to the point that they thought they could take on this so-called legend, Shye Crowley and at least fight him to a draw.
During the most recent end-of-sester tournant, one freshman warrior course student stood out even when compared to the champions of other courses.
The talented freshman student, Tyson Lee, was the son of two diamond-ranked adventurers who settled down in Colzen City a few years ago.
Labeled "The next Siegfried Lionheart", Tyson grew more and more arrogant after repeatedly being told that his talent was comparable to their great senior, Siegfried.
Naturally, he idolized Siegfried and over the course of one year, he slowly increased his interactions with his idol.
Watching him defeat the third-ranked Shirley Locke every ti he was challenged to a duel by Shirley, Tyson's respect for Siegfried grew trendously to the point that he would never believe that his idol has never won a single duel against the so-called legend, Shye Crowley.
In his inexperienced mind, Siegfried was the epito of a warrior, fighting with both brains and brawn. Not only was his idol's combat skills refined to perfection, but he also had outlandish strength rivaling those of brutish creatures such as an orc grunt.
Thus, he refused to believe that his idol would lose to Shye Crowley if the two of them fought again.
Since Shye was gone for one and a half years, soone like Tyson would naturally not respect him as thoughts of challenging Shye slowly ford in Tyson's mind.
A few seconds later, the top-ranked freshn students gathered together and whispered sothing in Tyson's ear, making his urge to test himself against the legend grow stronger and stronger.
Finally, the words that ca out of Shirley's mouth made Tyson decide to go through with his challenge.
"Deans…Since Crowley is already back, I believe there is no reason for to represent the academy." Shirley said as she respectfully bowed towards the deans before slowly returning to her seat while holding hands with her boyfriend, Shye.
Over the years, Maia and Shirley grew closer so such an affectionate display didn't make Maia jealous instead, she even felt happy for the two of them as she slowly returned to her seat, knowing that this wasn't the right ti to catch up with her big brother.
Naturally, the sophomores, the juniors, the seniors, the staff mbers, the instructors, and the deans felt that her decision was sensible as Shye was just too famous in the academy to ignore.
Not to ntion, he was the one who helped Shirley grow alarmingly stronger, thus, everyone except the freshn felt that it was only right for Shye, the leader of this batch of students, to represent the academy, in fact, no one was more fitting than him.
'Just like that, he's chosen as a representative? You've gotta be fucking around with !' Tyson inwardly thought as he gnashed his teeth and clenched his fists in anger.
He saw how his senior, Shirley, worked her way up the rankings so he couldn't accept that so random guy who returned after pathetically getting trapped inside a labyrinth deserved to represent the academy.
With indignation and fury written all over his face, Tyson stepped forward and said in a loud voice:
"Your Excellency, If I may be so presumptuous, we, the freshn students, refuse to accept such an arrangent. If so random guy who cos back after a long absence from the academy can beco a representative just like that, then what's the point of climbing the rankings?"
"If Senior Crowley wants to represent the academy, shouldn't he at least prove to us freshn that he is reliable?"
Naturally, the deans, the instructors, the representatives, and the other students on the smarter side imdiately realized what this guy was aiming for.
Siegfried, who took a liking to this guy's talent but disliked his arrogance almost bursted out laughing upon realizing what the youngster's plan was.
However, he wanted to see his rival's progress as well so he kept his mouth shut and watched the proceedings with intrigue.
The deans also felt that they needed to see Crowley's progress over the past year so they were willing to let this kid challenge him.
This way, not only would they see Shye's prowess, but they would also be able to curb the arrogance of this freshman student as early as now, not needing to wait before the guy becos a third-year student before doing so.
Thus, Dean Privett pretended to not notice the youngster's plan and asked:
"Oh? Tyson Lee, first-year warrior course student, correct? Tell us, in what way can Crowley prove himself to the freshn students?"
Seeing that the developnts were going the way he wanted them to, Tyson smiled and replied:
"Simple, let , the overall first-ranked freshman, fight him in a duel!"
