Kevin Kensington: "This afternoon, Sutton Group’s public relations team issued a statent on X about canceling the engagent."

As he spoke, Kevin Kensington opened X and found the statent.

"Look, it even includes a lawyer’s letter and lawsuit filed by Ethan Fuller, stating that due to Quinn Hughes spreading rumors and inciting netizens to cyberbully others, showing poor character, Sutton Group decided to call off the engagent after careful consideration."

The term "cyberbully others" refers to the online harassnt of Clara Sterling.

"Heh." Silas Sheffield sneered coldly.

"Isaac Sutton called off the engagent. Could the next step be..." Kevin Kensington glanced at Clara Sterling.

He didn’t finish his sentence, but everyone present knew what he wanted to say.

Isaac Sutton called off the engagent. Could the next step be trying to vie for Clara Sterling with Silas Sheffield?

Silas Sheffield remained unruffled, only his eyes were piercingly cold, "Does he even deserve it?"

...

By the ti they returned to Prospect Hill Villa, it was already ten o’clock at night.

Yvonne Sterling was already resting, and Ms. Cheney had also returned to the maid’s room to rest.

As soon as they got ho, Silas Sheffield pinned Clara Sterling against the wall, wrapped his large hand around her waist, and kissed her.

"Mmm." Clara Sterling wrapped her arms around the man’s neck, tilted her face up, and kissed him passionately.

As they kissed, Silas Sheffield lifted Clara Sterling up, carrying her while continuing to kiss her.

Suddenly, the man’s steps halted, and he let go of her, setting her down.

"What..."

The word "what" hadn’t left her mouth when Clara Sterling froze on the spot, locking eyes with Yvonne Sterling on the stairs.

"I..." Yvonne Sterling was equally embarrassed, stamring, "I just ca down for so water... you two carry on, carry on..."

With that, Yvonne Sterling turned and left, her retreating figure steeped in awkwardness.

Clara Sterling: "..."

Unexpectedly caught kissing by her mom, it was too awkward.

Blushing, Clara Sterling whispered, "My mom hasn’t gotten her water yet. I’ll take so up to her."

Silas Sheffield showed no sign of embarrassnt on his face, only a hint of desire in his eyes.

Having been interrupted, he lost interest in continuing, nodding gently, "Okay."

Silas Sheffield went back to the room to shower.

Clara Sterling poured a cup of warm water and headed to Yvonne Sterling’s room.

"Knock, knock, knock—" Clara Sterling knocked on the door.

The door opened, and Yvonne Sterling saw Clara Sterling.

"Clara."

Clara Sterling handed the cup of water to Yvonne Sterling, "Mom, weren’t you coming down to get water?"

Yvonne Sterling took the cup, still looking a bit awkward, "I’m sorry about earlier, I didn’t know you two were..."

Clara Sterling pursed her lips, "It’s okay, Mom."

After giving Yvonne Sterling the water, Clara Sterling went back to her room to take a shower.

She thought that little incident would just pass like that.

Clara Sterling didn’t expect her mother to bring up moving out the next day.

Sitting on the couch in the living room, Yvonne Sterling held her daughter’s hand with a serious expression and said, "You two just got married, and you’re in the honeymoon phase. It’s really not convenient for to stay here."

Clara Sterling had just co ho from work when her mother held her hand and said she wanted to move out.

"Mom, there’s nothing inconvenient about it. You just stay here without worrying; last night was just an accident."

"I still feel it’s not too good for to stay here," Yvonne Sterling said, "Clara, I still think I should move out. This ti, just listen to ."

Yvonne Sterling was adamant about moving out, and Clara Sterling couldn’t persuade her otherwise.

Knowing her mother was concerned for her, she decided to stop trying to persuade her and began helping her look for a place.

She didn’t plan to trouble Silas Sheffield with this matter.

She thought of renting a place for her mom nearby and hiring soone to cook, checking in on her after work regularly.

Rembering Lisa Holloway had experience with renting, Clara Sterling gave her a call.

"Lisa, did you find your rental online or go through an agency?"

Lisa Holloway: "I went through an agency. Why, are you looking to rent a place?"

"Yes."

"I’ll refer my agent to you."

"Okay, thanks."

After hanging up, she looked up to find Silas Sheffield’s face suddenly in view.

"You’re looking for a place?" The man’s deep black eyes were piercing.

"Mom said she wants to move out."

"Because of last night?"

"Yes, more or less. Mom said it’s inconvenient to stay here."

"Alright, I’ll take care of it."

Clara Sterling gestured to decline, "No need to trouble, my friend referred an agent, I’ll check out so places after work tomorrow."

"Being formal with ?" Silas Sheffield slightly frowned, his eyes darkening.

Clara Sterling realized he misunderstood and hugged him, wrapping her arms around his waist to comfort him.

"It’s not being formal; you’re already busy and tired with work, handling a lot at the company. I can manage this small thing myself, don’t want to burden you."

The coldness in Silas Sheffield’s eyes faded, he wrapped his arms around Clara Sterling in return, "It’s no burden, just a phone call. We have a vacant large flat here in Veridian, let your mom stay there, and Ms. Cheney can take care of her."

Clara Sterling paused.

Butler Adler’s wife was sick recently, and he had taken leave to care for her.

If both her mom and Ms. Cheney left, it would just be the two of them at ho...

Silas Sheffield noticed her thoughts, chuckled lowly, leaned close to Clara Sterling’s ear, and in a husky voice said softly, "With just the two of us here, we can do whatever we want in the future."

Clara Sterling blushed to her ears and lightly punched him.

"I never realized you had such a reserved and playful side."

His cool and abstinent exterior had deceived her.

Silas Sheffield brushed his warm lips lightly against her earlobe, his voice hoarse, "Only with you."

...

The next day, Yvonne Sterling moved out of Prospect Hill Villa.

Ms. Cheney went with her.

After work, Silas Sheffield personally escorted Yvonne Sterling there, and Clara Sterling also went to check it out.

The neighborhood wasn’t far from the Sheffield Branch, just a ten-minute drive. It was convenient for Clara Sterling to visit her mom after work.

The large flat was luxuriously decorated, equipped with all furniture and appliances, ready for imdiate move-in.

Silas Sheffield said, "Mom, if there’s anything you’re not comfortable with living here, just let know."

Yvonne Sterling smiled and said, "Alright."

"Mom, I’ll co over after work to see you regularly." Clara Sterling hugged her mom, "With Ms. Cheney here taking care of you, I’m at ease. In a few days, you have your regular hospital check-up, I’ll co by to take you."

Yvonne Sterling: "Okay."

Silas Sheffield arranged everything, having Ms. Cheney prepare nutritious als and keep Yvonne Sterling company. The nurse previously tasked with Yvonne’s care was also reassigned here, and the visiting doctor was also inford to conduct check-ups on-site.

...

The next morning.

Clara Sterling, having finished her work, leaned back in her chair to rest, picking up her phone to pass the ti, and saw a ssage from Silas Sheffield on WhatsApp.

[Co up and have lunch with .]

Huh?

So brazen, not afraid of being seen?

Clara Sterling: [Is that okay? What if soone sees us?]

Silas Sheffield: [We’re a legally married couple, what of it if we’re seen? It’s not an affair.]

Clara Sterling: [...]

Silas Sheffield: [Don’t worry, just co.]

He must have everything arranged, right?
