Seeing Ye Yuning’s face turn livid, Ji Nan said to her, "Actually, our Young Master isn’t a bad person. He really cares about you!"
"Caring for a married woman? This is truly an eye-opener!"
Ye Yuning glared irritably at Ji Nan. What on earth was this all about!
Caring? Is this what caring looks like? Would a normal, caring person create such a ss?
Ji Nan said, "You’re very clear about his intentions. Continuing like this will be detrintal to both you and your husband."
Ye Yuning was silent.
Her breathing grew heavy once again. When she thought of Xiao Linye’s tenderness and compared it to Qin Jinchuan, the latter seed like nothing but a thug, a common ruffian!
Little did she know, the tenderness she perceived was rely a facade.
Soon, the two individuals in charge of the inspection approached Ji Nan and reported, "We’ve checked everything; there’s nothing."
Ji Nan nodded. "You may leave."
The two of them departed.
Now only Ye Yuning and Ji Nan remained. Repressing her anger, Ye Yuning said to Ji Nan, "Tell him to give up on this idea."
Ji Nan replied, "Giving up is impossible. But Ms. Ye, if you truly don’t agree, then be prepared for the consequences."
With that, Ji Nan had made his stance perfectly clear.
She could either comply with Qin Jinchuan or resist him to the death. Those were her only two options now. As for her dreams of living a simple life, that door was now firmly closed.
Ji Nan left.
Ye Yuning was so infuriated she slamd her phone onto the desk, wishing she could flip the entire table over.
Standing up, she paced back and forth. She was constantly thinking about how to deal with Qin Jinchuan; she wanted to kill him.
Luo Xin, who had entered at so point unnoticed, looked at her with concern and asked, "Boss, are you okay?"
With Chen Wei not around, Luo Xin was the one keeping an eye on her. The earlier scene had truly frightened Luo Xin; she had never encountered anyone so unreasonable.
Ye Yuning waved her hand. "I’m fine!"
She said she was fine, but internally she was extrely agitated. This Qin Jinchuan was an utter madman, one she couldn’t shake off. What should she do now?
BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ. The phone vibrated. Irritated, Ye Yuning picked it up. "Hello."
"The contract has been revised. Is it alright if I bring it over for your signature tomorrow morning?" Ling Yan’s voice ca from the other end of the line.
Ye Yuning rolled her eyes. She felt she needed to consult a fortune-teller again. She’d been so unlucky lately. This string of bad luck... if it wasn’t Qin Jinchuan, it was Ling Yan. It was never-ending.
"Fine, I’ll sign it, alright?" Ye Yuning said irritably.
Hearing her anger, Ling Yan chuckled lightly from the other end. "What’s the matter? No confidence in winning?"
"That’s not it! What do you know anyway!"
"Then what are you angry about? Did I provoke you?"
"You don’t need to provoke ; just hearing your voice pisses off. Understand?"
When it ca to Ling Yan, Ye Yuning wasn’t worried in the slightest about offending her. She was simply angry. Why was it so hard to have a peaceful life? She considered herself to have been conscientious in running her business for the past two years. How had she provoked such disreputable people? Yes, in her eyes, Qin Jinchuan and Ling Yan were both disreputable!
Ling Yan, still unfazed, tutted. "You tell , have you always been this hot-tempered over the years?"
"I’m only like this towards you!"
"But I heard that Xiao Shuo was almost beaten to death by you. Sotis, you should rein in your temper."
Ye Yuning retorted, "Whether I rein it in or not is none of your business, right?"
"It isn’t, but I don’t want to clean up your ss."
Ye Yuning was speechless. Clean up *my* ss? What did she an by that? Ling Yan’s arrival had truly confused her; Ling Yan kept saying things she couldn’t understand.
Ling Yan didn’t give her another chance to speak, saying, "Notify Andai to bring a lawyer to your studio at ten o’clock tomorrow morning. Have them wait there."
She wanted Andai to bring a lawyer? Being suspected by others didn’t seem to bother Ling Yan at all; in fact, she seed quite pleased about it, didn’t she? Ye Yuning found Ling Yan perplexing. She disliked her, yet she had a nagging feeling that this animosity wasn’t as simple as it appeared on the surface.
Ling Yan had already hung up. Hearing the dial tone, Ye Yuning exclaid in frustration, "What is all this nonsense? It’s so annoying!"
She truly felt vexed now. A dull ache started in her lower abdon. She figured it was because she was so furious.
When Xiao Linye ca to pick her up in the evening, he saw her looking listless.
He gently stroked her head and asked softly, "What’s wrong? Unhappy?"
Ye Yuning shook her head. "It’s not unhappiness."
"Then what is it?"
Ye Yuning replied, "My stomach just feels a bit uncomfortable."
"Is your period due?"
"I guess so!" It felt like it was about to start. But speaking of that sensation, she’d had the sa pain during her business trip and thought her period was coming then too. But it hadn’t arrived at all! Now that she was taking dicine, it should arrive soon, right? Ye Yuning was also puzzled. Her cycle had always been quite regular before; this ti, it was delayed for so long.
