The call connected quickly, and Xia Andai’s voice ca through, "Hello?"
"Andai, I’m at Shuxiang Restaurant. You need to co over!"
On the other end of the phone, Xia Andai was taken aback, not expecting Ye Yuning to actually call her on her own initiative.
She imdiately realized what was going on. "Ling Yan went to see you?"
"Right, she’s here with ."
"I understand!"
Fuming, Ye Yuning glared at Ling Yan across from her after hanging up.
She had never wanted to completely fall out with her; after all, one needed to maintain appearances.
But Ling Yan had gone too far!
Making her do this project was practically a threat.
Seeing Ye Yuning hang up, Ling Yan raised an eyebrow. "I recall your relationship with Xia Andai has been quite distant these past few years, hasn’t it? You two have your conflicts."
"What’s it to you?" Ye Yuning snapped back directly.
She was furious now!
She had never seen such a shaless woman. How could anyone be *this* shaless?
Ling Yan chuckled. "Of course, it’s none of my business. Why are you asking her to co? To fight?"
"Fight? That would dirty my hands! You probably think no one would believe , right? But Xia Andai has one hundred percent credibility. I’ll have her expose your scandals."
At that mont, Ye Yuning was like a bullied child who had just called her parents for backup.
Ling Yan watched her, the smile in her eyes gradually fading at Ye Yuning’s imposing stance.
"TSK, TSK." Ling Yan then said, "That angry, are you? I ask you to help with a project, and you try to get ** into trouble?"
"Cut the crap. I’ve tolerated you for a long ti."
ss with her? She’d wanted to do that for ages!
She had tolerated it before because of Ling Yan’s status, but this woman was pushing her luck.
Ling Yan watched Ye Yuning fuming but wasn’t angry in the slightest. She chuckled. "Five million for the design fee. How about it?"
"Enough, shut up!"
If she hadn’t ntioned the five million, it would have been fine. But the re ntion of it infuriated Ye Yuning.
Was she the kind of person who would stoop for five million?
Speaking of five million, it reminded her of the Xiao Group!
That design fee was really high...!
And what happened later? The Xiao Group project was such a nightmare, it nearly drove her insane.
Now the re ntion of five million gave her a headache.
Seeing her reaction, Ling Yan smiled even wider. "Eight million."
"You..."
"Ten million."
Ye Yuning was speechless. This despicable woman, trying to bury her with money?
There really were such extravagant people in this world, resorting to both threats and inducents to force soone into submission.
And that’s exactly what Ling Yan was doing now.
But having learned her lesson from the Xiao Group, Ye Yuning wasn’t going to fall for it so easily. "Don’t even think about it."
"Any design you produce, I’ll approve. I absolutely won’t make you work overti on revisions."
Ye Yuning scoffed, "Are you joking?"
She would listen to such words, but she wouldn’t believe them for a second!
But Ling Yan’s expression instantly turned serious. "I don’t have ti to joke with you. Whatever you design, I want it!"
"You trust that much?" Ye Yuning looked at Ling Yan, still unconvinced.
Considering their history, especially how they fought back in school, how could there be any credibility?
She didn’t believe for a second that Ling Yan would actually trust her!
Ling Yan said, "I trust your professional integrity!"
Ye Yuning was silent. Professional integrity... those words...
Even though Ye Yuning had always been hot-tempered, it was undeniable that she took her work very seriously.
Especially in design, an area to which she poured her heart and soul.
Ling Yan had investigated. Even for clients she was extrely dissatisfied with, the final designs she delivered were always flawless.
She cared too much about her work to ever compromise on it.
Therefore, Ling Yan believed her.
"You still don’t believe ? Or do you think the design fee I’m offering is too low?"
Ye Yuning retorted, "No!"
"Then what is it?"
"You’ll try to sche against !" Ye Yuning said with near certainty.
It was perfectly normal for this woman to sche against her; it was as if she was always looking for a chance to do so.
How could Ye Yuning possibly trust such a person so easily?
Ling Yan smirked. "So, it’s because of what happened before? You’re scared?"
"Stop trying to provoke ," Ye Yuning said, annoyed.
As for the past, there were countless incidents, not just one or two.
Who wouldn’t be cautious or afraid when dealing with soone like that?
Ling Yan stated, "Fifteen million!"
Ye Yuning retorted, "Can that project even make you that much? You’re just pulling numbers out of thin air."
A design fee of fifteen million was no small sum. This woman was truly extravagant.
But it couldn’t be helped. As the head of one of Hong City’s four great families, she certainly had the financial backing.
Yet, thinking of Ling Yan’s character, Ye Yuning figuratively gritted her teeth.
"How much I earn is none of your concern. The point is, you *have* to take this project."
Have to take it?
So, she’s offering money but also making it mandatory?
Did this an she had to accept the job today, whether she wanted to or not?
"And what if I refuse?" Ye Yuning snapped, her irritation growing.
Just looking at this woman was infuriating!
Hearing Ye Yuning’s tentative question, Ling Yan’s serious expression lted into a mysterious smile.
She didn’t answer directly, only offering two words with a teasing lilt, "Guess~!"
Her voice, soft and teasing, instantly gave Ye Yuning goosebumps. This woman was infuriating even when making threats!
