As they were getting out of the car, Xiao Linye suddenly grabbed her wrist. Ye Yuning was so startled that she dropped her yogurt.
"Wh-what’s wrong?" she asked, looking up, confused, her eyes clearly guarded.
Her darting gaze made Xiao Linye loosen his grip slightly.
His expression was clearly unnatural. He cleared his throat and pointed to her chest. "Your buttons are done up wrong!"
Ye Yuning looked down and saw that two of her buttons were misaligned. It was likely a mistake she’d made in her daze from the severe toothache.
Her black bra was faintly visible! Had she really walked all this way with this man looking like that? This was...!
She gasped, quickly adjusting the misaligned buttons, her face flushing. "Why-why didn’t you say sothing sooner!"
Xiao Linye didn’t respond. He was probably too embarrassed to ntion it for the entire ride!
In her haste, her blouse had beco partly unbuttoned, revealing the black mole below her collarbone in Xiao Linye’s peripheral vision.
His breathing hitched. By the ti he turned to look, however, Ye Yuning had already fastened her buttons.
Ye Yuning took a deep breath. "I-I’m going up now!" Her stamring tone clearly conveyed her embarrassnt.
Xiao Linye’s gaze upon her deepened as he replied instinctively, "Text when you finish your overti. I’ll co pick you up."
"Don’t wait for tonight," she said. "I might have to pull an all-nighter. You should get so rest early."
Her employees couldn’t bear the thought of her losing money; as the boss, how could she slack off?! Thinking this, she also began to consider another plan: perhaps she could make up the loss from a different project and just ignore the Xiao Corporation! Working with such a problematic person was just too exhausting...
Without waiting for Xiao Linye to nod, Ye Yuning hopped out of the car and practically fled towards the office building.
Xiao Linye watched her disappear behind the glass revolving door, his gaze lingering for a long ti before his thoughts finally settled.
He pulled out his phone and made a call. Lai Shuo answered quickly on the other end, "Seventh Master."
Xiao Linye closed his eyes. He thought for a mont, but ultimately decided not to ntion the child. Perhaps he had just seen incorrectly.
When Lai Shuo heard no response, he called out again, "Master?"
Xiao Linye opened his eyes and asked coldly, "Did Manlang Studio submit their proposal today?"
"No. What’s wrong?"
"No?" Then why are they working overti? Xiao Linye thought.
Lai Shuo carefully recalled. "No, they haven’t submitted any proposals since they were rejected last ti."
"Have the assistant departnt check. They should have submitted sothing!"
Lai Shuo was bewildered by this. He hadn’t contacted any of the notified collaborators in days. Yang Huan had rely ntioned Manlang, and the entire assistant departnt had been replaced. What did it an for him to be asking about them proactively now?
Feeling puzzled but not daring to ask further, Lai Shuo simply said, "Alright, I’ll have it checked right away!"
Before Lai Shuo could hang up, Xiao Linye continued, "Also, ask Professor Chen what supplents can help with a toothache."
"You have a toothache?" Lai Shuo was taken aback. He’d been by Seventh Master’s side for so many years and had never known him to have a toothache. Had it just started in the last few days? With no one to look after him, who knew what he and his new wife had been eating carelessly.
"Just ask!" Xiao Linye snapped.
With that, he hung up the phone.
Lai Shuo, on the other end of the line, was speechless. ...Is this how a newlywed should behave?

When Ye Yuning arrived at Manlang Studio, many designers were already there.
Ma Di and Lei An had gathered the designers for a eting. When Chen Wei saw Yuning, she hurried over. "You’re here! Do you need so dicine for your toothache?"
Because Ye Yuning often had toothaches, Chen Wei always kept so dicine ready for her.
Yuning shook her head. "I’ve already taken so. Is everyone in the eting room?"
"Yes!"

The revised proposal had been rejected again, and now she had no idea what was going on. She had pondered it the entire way to the studio but still had no clue.
Due to the tight schedule, the eting proceeded as quickly as possible.
It was about eleven o’clock when she left the eting room.
Chen Wei followed her to her office. As soon as the door closed, Ye Yuning couldn’t help but explode, "This damn Xiao Corporation! Tell everyone to go ho! I don’t care anymore!"
Seeing her like this, Chen Wei said, looking pained, "But that’s several million! Just bear with it a little longer!"
Losing millions over a fit of anger just wasn’t worth it! Chen Wei thought.
Ye Yuning picked up a file folder and fanned herself with it.
This new CEO is even harder to deal with than soone holding a personal grudge! This is outright bullying! she fud internally.
Speaking of personal grudges, her phone rang.
She glanced at the screen—to her surprise, it was Xiao Shuo calling.
Seeing that she was about to answer, Chen Wei quickly turned and left, tactfully closing the door behind her.
Once Ye Yuning was alone, she took a deep breath to compose herself before answering, "Hello."
"Manlang Studio must be in complete chaos by now, right?" Xiao Shuo’s voice gloated from the other end.
Ye Yuning remained silent, a cold light flashing in her eyes.
When she finally spoke, her tone was icy. "Was it you?"
"Ye Yuning," Xiao Shuo sneered, "consider this a lesson from . If you can’t resolve the Qin Family’s issue, then just wait for Manlang Studio to go bankrupt."
So, he was a mber of the Xiao Family after all. Even the least favored among them had so tricks up their sleeve. She hadn’t expected this matter to actually be related to Xiao Shuo!
Ye Yuning’s anger flared. "Xiao Shuo, you bastard!"
"I won’t hold Tongtong’s child against you," Xiao Shuo said, his tone extrely arrogant. "But if you don’t handle the Qin Family matter properly, you can just wait to starve."
Ye Yuning clenched her hand, which had gone slightly stiff from the office air conditioning, wishing she could reach through the phone and tear Xiao Shuo apart.
If this had been the new CEO rejecting her work, it would have been a headache, certainly. But now...
"Helping your current fla by threatening your ex? Xiao Shuo, you’re truly disgusting!"
"So what if I’m disgusting to you?" Xiao Shuo retorted. "And what kind of ex are you anyway? Did you ever even consider your fiancé?"
Speaking of which, Xiao Shuo was indeed resentful.
