Upon hearing her bold declaration, Xiao Shuo’s face darkened ominously. He trembled with rage, gritting his teeth. "What did you say? Blue Island is still in your hands? What project has Luozhou given you?"
"Trying to snatch it again?" Chen Wei scoffed. "Could you even handle it? Can you actually manage with that amateurish scribbling?" She shot Xiao Shuo a disdainful look and left.
Xiao Shuo stood rooted to the spot, his breathing erratic.
Just a couple of days ago, Ye Tong had ntioned taking over the Blue Island project together. With the Xiao Corporation backing her, she considered Blue Island an easily attainable project. But how is it still in Ye Yuning’s hands?
This wretched woman! Xiao Shuo’s head throbbed with anger. His wound even began to throb faintly. Just as expected of Ye Yuning’s people—they all have the sa wretched character! Touching the bandage on his forehead, he silently swore to make these won pay.
Seething with rage, he stord upstairs to find Ye Tong.
Unbeknownst to both him and Chen Wei, their entire exchange had been overheard by Xiao Linye, who was waiting for Ye Yuning in his Passat. Xiao Linye felt no sympathy for Xiao Shuo. As for the owner of Manlang, her shrewish behavior just now only earned his disdain; She clearly lacks worldly polish.

Ye Tong froze. "So, you didn’t co back upstairs this morning because you went to the hospital again?" This Ye Yuning, is she trying to turn the world upside down? We’ve already severed ties with the Xiao Corporation, yet she’s still so arrogant!
Xiao Shuo had said he was going to settle scores with Ye Yuning that morning, and she had been overjoyed. But Xiao Shuo hadn’t returned after leaving, and she had assud the matter was nearly settled. Looking at him now, not only had the score not been settled, but he’d clearly been beaten up again.
The re ntion of Ye Yuning was enough to make Xiao Shuo extrely irritable. "Enough!" he snapped. "Can we please not talk about that woman?" She’s an absolute jinx.
Ye Tong felt wronged by his outburst. She was furious about what Ye Yuning had done, but at the sa ti, she couldn’t help but wonder why Xiao Shuo was so pathetic. How many tis has that woman beaten him up now? The first ti, she’d felt so sympathy, thinking Ye Yuning was just a shrew. But as it kept happening, she couldn’t help but start doubting Xiao Shuo’s capabilities.
Xiao Shuo picked up his cup, took a sip, and then said, "About that Blue Island project—didn’t I pull all the strings for you? Why weren’t the negotiations successful?" He had undoubtedly been the one to facilitate the Blue Island connection for her. Knowing Ye Yuning was negotiating for Blue Island, he realized she intended to use that project to replace the Xiao Corporation. That’s why he had gone to such lengths to secure Blue Island for Ye Tong! It was a massive project, far bigger than Wansheng or any of the others. Ye Yuning probably wouldn’t even spare a glance for projects like Wansheng. But from what Chen Wei had said earlier, it certainly didn’t sound like Ye Tong had managed to snatch Blue Island.
And at the ntion of Blue Island, Ye Tong was seething internally. "We negotiated," she replied. "They said they’d consider it, but then I heard nothing back."
"So, you failed to seal the deal!" Xiao Shuo’s voice rose, his annoyance clear. Useless! Why was he even helping her so much? He’d actually thought she had so ability after she secured that Nanjia Peak collaboration from Seventh Uncle.
Hearing the displeasure in his tone, Ye Tong suppressed her own anger and retorted, "Negotiations can succeed or fail. That’s just how it is. Why are you in such a hurry?"
"Blue Island is a major project! Get this straight: Ye Yuning is still handling it."
"What?" Ye Tong was instantly agitated. "Didn’t Blue Island say they wouldn’t collaborate with Manlang anymore?" She had assud that if Blue Island wasn’t going to work with her, they would choose a different partner, especially since Manlang had already been dropped by Blue Island. This is...!
"Ye Yuning must have used so underhanded trick! It has to be!"
"She can use tricks, so why can’t you?" Xiao Shuo retorted, thoroughly exasperated.
Ye Tong felt aggrieved. Seeing Xiao Shuo so worked up over a single project and taking it out on her made her own anger surge. She just couldn’t understand why Ye Yuning was always so damned lucky. When they were young, Ye Yuning stole the life that should have been hers, and now she was still monopolizing all the accolades that rightfully belonged to her.
