Nora Northwood and Jasper Sinclair got back into the car, with Nora looking rather disinterested and deflated.

"Are you feeling unwell?" Jasper asked.

"No, I’m fine."

"Why did you suddenly want to leave?"

"Yvonne Shepherd is so fake, I don’t like her."

Since running VK, Nora has t many people, most of whom wear masks to get by.

Yvonne has the shadow of those people, but not entirely.

In any case, Nora doesn’t like her.

Jasper let her have her way, "If you don’t like her, we won’t et her next ti."

"Do you think what they said is credible?"

"Mostly credible."

"Why do you say that?"

Nora asked while adjusting her posture, preparing to listen attentively.

Jasper pulled her into his arms and explained carefully, "Shane Shepherd is unaware of Jenson Sinclair’s current situation. According to my guess, their coming to Paris isn’t just to find the antidote formula; there’s another reason—they’re avoiding Jenson Sinclair."

"Oh?"

"Shane Shepherd has no need to help us find the antidote. He’s simply balancing interests, hoping to use to restrain Jenson Sinclair, achieving his goal of retiring from the ga."

Nora half understood, yet felt sothing was a bit off, "Then why didn’t he find you sooner? If he had sold the news about Jenson poisoning earlier, wouldn’t everyone be happy?"

"There could be many explanations, not ruling out that they were betrayed by Rachel Woodward."

"What do you an?"

Nora felt her brain cells were not enough. She tried to connect the whole matter but couldn’t understand why Rachel would betray her own parents.

Jasper looked at her frowning in thought and tapped her forehead.

"It’s quite simple. Before this, Rachel didn’t know Shane Shepherd was her biological father. Imagine, a child born with a silver spoon, finding out she mistook her family, and her real family is a bunch of gangsters. What would she think?"

"Judging by what I know of Rachel, she’s gotten used to being a wealthy heiress and probably couldn’t accept this change."

"Not bad, not too dumb."

"You’re the dumb one!"

Nora raised her chin, gave the man a sidelong glance, and asked another question, "But even so, she wouldn’t act like that."

"Isn’t it possible that from the start, Yvonne never intended to tell Rachel this truth?"

Upon hearing this, Nora suddenly looked enlightened, as if she had discovered sothing incredible.

"You an they wanted to keep Rachel in the dark her entire life?"

"That’s my guess, perhaps."

The secret couldn’t be kept forever, and they failed to continue hiding it.

So much so that Rachel, unaware of the real circumstances, sold out her biological parents to Jenson Sinclair.

In this way, everything that happened had a reasonable explanation.

Nora: CPU burnt out.

"Today’s discoveries have been quite shocking. I think I should go back to the hotel and get so good rest."

"Lunch first or sleep?"

Nora looked down at her stomach; she didn’t feel particularly hungry.

However, her body wasn’t just hers, and the little life inside couldn’t be ignored.
