Rue de Rivoli.

Jasper Sinclair and Nora Northwood stepped out of the car, one on either side, as a suave-looking attendant approached to greet them.

"For your privacy, please wear these masks."

Two plain masks were presented before Nora, evoking the image of a mysterious ball.

Entering the restaurant, the lobby was filled with hushed whispers.

Soone stopped Jasper from advancing further, asking in an official tone, "Do you have a reservation?"

"I’m here to see Mr. Shepherd."

"Alright, please follow this way."

Along the way, Nora observed the people around her, unable to distinguish who were staff and who were custors.

Everyone here was dressed in opulent attire, wearing half masks.

Nora’s steps halted in front of a door.

"Mr. Shepherd is waiting inside for you both." The attendant’s words were brief.

Jasper opened the door, revealing a layer of Japanese-style screen, obscuring the faces inside, only the vague outlines of two figures could be seen.

"Click—"

As the lock clicked into place, the person behind the screen set down their cup.

The first to erge was Yvonne Shepherd, confirming the arrivals were the ones they were waiting for, she spoke in greeting, "Mr. Sinclair, Mrs. Sinclair, please co in and sit."

Jasper, holding Nora’s hand, walked inside at an extrely slow pace.

With each step forward, his gaze shifted in a different direction.

Only after confirming that the room posed no threat did he relax.

Upon seeing Shane Shepherd, Jasper was even more certain of his suspicion.

"Do you have a counterpart in Paris?"

Hearing this question, Shane Shepherd was montarily stunned, then laughed loudly, "Indeed, nothing escapes Mr. Sinclair’s eyes."

"I don’t like my whereabouts exposed, do you understand what I an?"

"Rest assured, this place is absolutely secretive."

Jasper’s expression was hidden beneath the mask, making him inscrutable. After the pleasantries, he quickly got to the point.

"Within a month, I need to obtain the antidote formula for His9."

The person sitting opposite him removed their mask, revealing a troubled expression, "Mr. Sinclair, I’m afraid..."

"Tell who your contact is, I have my ways."

"I would love to tell you his na, but the truth is I only know him as Damien."

Damien, often referred to as the devil, few would choose such a na for themselves, as it symbolizes ill fortune.

"How do you usually contact him?"

"Mostly through communication thods. Damien has holdings dostically; he need not show himself. This ti, I ventured to Paris alone, holding a trial attitude."

In reality, Shane Shepherd was not proficient in foreign languages, finding himself at a loss in Paris. If not for Yvonne’s willingness to serve as his translator, he would have returned ho.

"Is there no other information?"

Shane regrettably shook his head, indicating no.

Jasper did not expect the first step of the plan to encounter difficulties.

However, there was nothing he couldn’t accomplish.

"Where does this organization usually appear?"

"Just a mont."

Shane retrieved a piece of paper and a pen from the cabinet behind them, jotting down several locations, among which, the slum’s location was circled prominently.
