Nora Northwood thought that for such an important matter, she must personally tell Jasper Sinclair to show that she truly valued it.

That night.

Jasper Sinclair returned to Crimson Hill Villa with a sll of alcohol clinging to him.

The light, subtle noises he made in the room woke the person who was sleeping restlessly.

"Jasper, you’re back."

Without turning on the light, Nora could see the silhouette of the man by the light of a crescent moon.

Jasper Sinclair carried a hint of drunkenness, and now, hearing her soft, gentle voice, he couldn’t help but lean down. "Sorry for waking you."

"Mmm..."

Before the person in bed could say anything more, her lips were already captured by soone.

Jasper Sinclair’s kiss ca forcefully, as if he wanted to engulf her.

The warmth and softness intertwined, making it impossible to withdraw from the imrsion.

Suddenly, a surge of electricity coursed through Nora’s whole body.

She realized her current physical condition, and rationality compelled her to reach out and place her hand between their bodies, "Jasper, it’s already quite late."

She was gently refusing.

In the darkness, a soft chuckle could be heard as Jasper rubbed her head and said, "Okay."

The next day.

Nora, invited by Elaine, accompanied her to attend an academic forum.

Upon arriving at the venue, Nora found that Vincent Morgan was also there.

Since she declined his confession, they hadn’t been in touch for a long ti. Now eting again, Nora still felt a bit awkward inside.

Compared to her awkwardness, Vincent approached boldly and greeted her.

"Nora, long ti no see. Has work been going well for you recently?"

"Everything’s going smoothly, thank you for your concern, Morgan."

Midway through the forum, Nora suddenly felt a tightness in her chest and began struggling to breathe.

Thinking it was due to the lack of ventilation indoors, she decided to go outside for so fresh air.

Vincent noticed her discomfort and followed her, accompanying her outside.

Unfortunately, it was only ten degrees outside.

Nora shivered twice from the cold, unable to withstand the chill and obediently returned inside.

There was so unlted snow at the entrance that had turned into pools of water.

Nora, wearing high heels, slipped.

"Ah—"

No matter how quick Vincent’s reaction was, the distance between them couldn’t be closed instantly.

So, he watched helplessly as Nora fell right in front of him.

"Nora."

The pain on Nora’s face was clearly visible.

"Hospital, Morgan, take to the hospital, please."

It was as if she was under a spell, her mouth constantly muttering about the hospital.

Vincent called for an ambulance, and its speed was astonishingly fast.

Jasper Sinclair arrived from the office to see Vincent wiping tears from Nora’s face.

Unable to accept such an intimate gesture, he grabbed Vincent by the shirt collar and lifted him off the chair.

Vincent swore that in the past twenty-eight years, never before had he felt so embarrassed or miserable.

He was like a chick running wild in the field, picked up without hesitation by the field’s owner and tossed out beyond the field.

"Don’t use your hands to touch her."

Jasper was not the only one with a dark face; Nora’s expression was also not good.

She shouted Jasper’s na lowly, tears streaking down her face, "Can’t you be reasonable? It was Morgan who took to the hospital!"

What man would want to hear his wife repeatedly defending a rival?
