Flash Marriage: She becomes Mrs. CEO after the Failed Dowry Talk Chapter 856: I Know You’re Pretending to Sleep
Jasper Sinclair’s voice, half gentle, half insistent, sounded in Nora Northwood’s ear: "Your body clock is always on ti, stop pretending to be asleep."
The person who was exposed slowly opened her eyes.
Actually, Nora also felt this was quite pointless... She collected herself and said, "I don’t want to see you!"
The tone of her voice when she just got up had a soft, tender feel to it, sounding not at all intimidating, more like she was pouting.
Jasper looked at her for a mont and responded, "If you really don’t want to see , I’ll wait for you outside. You should get up and have breakfast; don’t neglect your own health."
During the ti he spoke, Nora managed to sit up from the bed, leaning her upper body against a pillow, looking entirely lazy, like a drowsy little cat.
"I’ll wait outside. Call when you’re done eating, and I’ll co in to take the plate, okay?"
Nora neither agreed nor disagreed.
Jasper naturally took her silence as acquiescence, then retreated from the living room.
"Click—"
The door was closed from the outside.
The living room returned to silence, Nora, unenthusiastic, got out of bed and freshened up.
When she picked up her cup, the milk was only slightly warm.
Jasper had brought food to the room, all of which she usually liked to eat.
However, she didn’t have much appetite this ti.
After eating, she entertained the idea of checking if Jasper was indeed waiting at the door as he said.
Nora lightly pinched her throat, cleared her throat, and shouted the man’s na.
The house’s soundproofing was well done, and Jasper outside the door could only hear a faint sound.
He pushed open the door again, his gaze sweeping over Nora’s face, stopping at the half-empty plate, asking, "Are you full? It seems like you ate less than usual. Is it not to your taste?"
"No." Nora flatly denied it.
Jasper strode forward, quickly reaching the person by the small coffee table.
As he wiped his hands, he asked, "Have you been waiting at the door the whole ti?"
"Mm."
A mont passed, Nora said nothing more, but the confusion in her eyes betrayed her current thoughts.
Jasper pondered: is now a good ti to talk?
He didn’t want to drag the tiline too long, nor did he want to say anything displeasing while Nora was upset.
As he was contemplating, the person in front of him had already stood up, preparing to leave.
"Nora."
He called out to her, word by word.
Nora’s toe paused for a mont; though she didn’t speak, her actions indicated she was waiting to hear more.
Jasper moved to face her, and upon eting her calm eyes, swallowed the words he was about to say, changing to, "I’ll take you to work."
Nora lazily murmured, "Oh," appearing a bit disappointed at not hearing the anticipated explanation.
Both holding their own thoughts, they headed out together.
As October began, the sun hung high in the sky as usual, but the temperature had noticeably changed.
Jasper stood by the car, gentlemanly opening the backseat door for Nora and shielding the spot most likely to be bumped.
Faced with the man’s attentiveness, Nora remained unmoved.
The driver in the front, after reversing, drove the car out of Crimson Hill Villa.
After a dozen or so minutes, they gradually approached the city’s most bustling street.
