"Jasper Sinclair squinted, still not understanding the aning of "should" at this mont.

In fact, he was unaware that today was Nora Northwood’s first day settling in this place.

When Jasper Sinclair approached the direction of Nora’s fingertips with a bag in hand, he froze on the spot.

"Does your kitchen have a toilet?"

He thought Nora was deliberately playing pranks and added, "When did you learn such tricks? You little heartless one."

Nora: "..."

She leaned over, and Jasper continued to mock her: "You must have been led astray by Vincent Morgan, I’ve already warned you he’s no good, stay away from him."

Nora’s cheeks puffed up in anger on both sides of her face, "At least Vincent won’t mock ! Not like you!"

"Does he cook for you?"

As Jasper spoke, he began searching for the kitchen and found cookware in the innermost room.

Nora followed him like a little sparrow, tagging along chirpily.

Her eyes roved around, watching ingredient after ingredient being taken out from the transparent bag by Jasper.

"Are you going to cook?"

"Otherwise..." Jasper stopped mid-sentence, recalling Lily Sloan’s advice.

Treat girls gently!

So, he changed tone: "Worried that you don’t enjoy eating outside, your face looks slimr. Tonight I’ll make so dishes you like and put back those lost pounds."

Hearing this, Nora blinked in disbelief. When did he beco so considerate?

anwhile, a warmth surged through her heart.

"Do you need my help?"

"If you’re free, help wash the vegetables."

"Okay."

Though mories faded, his culinary skills hadn’t diminished. Jasper never ntioned going back to the country again throughout the whole evening.

He intentionally avoided it, and Nora, not foolish enough, didn’t bring it up either, making the atmosphere quite harmonious.

Until late at night.

Seeing that Nora didn’t intend to keep him, Jasper started to panic.

Since when is there a free dinner?

He painstakingly cooked dinner, and even if he couldn’t take her away, he should at least stay for the night.

So, he asked, "Which room is your bedroom?"

Upon hearing that, Nora imdiately beca alert, cautiously asking back, "It’s so late, aren’t you going back to the hotel?"

Jasper: "..."

Really wants to chase him away?

He looked down at Nora, his hand at his side clenching and unclenching, "I have nowhere to stay, let stay just one night."

Nora rejected without thinking, "I don’t want to!" She knew very well that if she kept him, he’d eventually end up on her bed.

It took her so much effort to break free from the role of a wife, trying to stay away from all heartbreak, she couldn’t let Jasper’s sudden appearance drag her back to the past.

Jasper wasn’t soone who’d leave with just a few words.

He pondered and tried to make Nora compromise with the idea of "both sides taking a step back," "I can sleep in the guest room, I’ve been running around for days, never slept well, very tired, Nora."

"These rooms haven’t been cleaned yet, the hotel will be more comfortable."

"Then co back to the hotel with ?"

"I don’t want to!"

Upon hearing the word "No", Jasper began to approach step by step, deliberately lowering his voice and hoarsely said: "Don’t keep saying no, won’t you even want ? Shouldn’t you?"

The persuasion in his tone was too obvious.
