Nora Northwood couldn’t even rember the most basic manners as she set down her things and went upstairs alone.

At the corner of the stairs, she stopped again.

She was asking herself, what was she really thinking?

She was clearly prepared for divorce, yet when Peach Bell appeared, she was filled with jealousy. This was unlike her old self; such behavior didn’t match her usual carefree attitude.

Nora hesitated at the corner, unsure whether to move forward or turn back.

As ti passed second by second, her gaze remained fixed in the direction of the bedroom.

After a while, Nora let out a long sigh of relief.

She found a new excuse for herself.

If this were a lodramatic plot, she would catch them in bed, which would solidify her resolve to get a divorce.

If there was no such lodrama, she would observe how Jasper Sinclair behaved.

Either way, she had prepared for the worst.

With these thoughts in mind, Nora approached the bedroom step by step. Her footsteps were light, and combined with the excellent soundproofing of the villa, it was hard for anyone to notice her.

When she paused at the bedroom door, she tentatively pressed down the door handle.

Then, she pushed the door open and entered.

Silence, nothing but silence.

There was no imagined scene of betrayal; everything in the room was almost the sa as when she left.

She guessed that Jasper hadn’t entered their bedroom all day.

That ant only the study was left.

Nora thought that no matter how passionate Jasper might be, he wouldn’t do such unspeakable things in the study.

More accurately, he wouldn’t have an affair.

She adjusted her breathing and expression to ensure that no one could see anything unusual before approaching the study.

The surprising thing was that the door to the study was not tightly closed, leaving a small gap.

This was not like Jasper’s style; he always preferred quiet in his study.

Just as Nora was about to burst in, she heard the sound of faint sobbing.

"Brother Jasper, I don’t believe that you have no feelings for !"

Just by hearing the voice, it was easy to tell it was Peach Bell. Her emotions seed a bit agitated, and her words were broken, probably due to intense emotional fluctuations.

"I do have feelings for you..."

Outside the door, Nora’s heart leapt into her throat upon hearing these words.

If he had feelings for Peach Bell, why sign a marital agreent with her?

The voice continued to erge from the study, "But those aren’t romantic feelings between a man and a woman. I am very grateful that you took care of carefully when I lost my mory. For you, besides gratitude, I can’t think of another kind of affection. Do you understand what I an?"

This ti, Peach Bell beca more agitated.

In a place that Nora couldn’t see, the young girl was shaking her head frantically, trying to deny Jasper’s words.

"If you don’t like , why would you stand up for to humiliate Nora, and also..."

"Peach Bell!"

Before Peach Bell could finish, the man’s stern voice interrupted her, "I never intended to humiliate Nora. As a friend who took care of , both emotionally and rationally, I wouldn’t let you suffer indignity in front of . I would still have done the sa for anyone else."

Nora rarely heard Jasper speak at such length to anyone.

It was clear that he genuinely wanted to explain things to Peach Bell and cut off all of the young girl’s unrealistic fantasies.
