When Nora Northwood woke up, it was three in the afternoon.

The spot beside her was empty, and the sunlight streaming in through the window cast a warm glow over the bedroom.

She fumbled around for her phone and finally found it on the small table on the terrace.

At that exact mont, the bedroom door was pushed open from outside, and Jasper Sinclair walked in, carrying a cup of hot milk. He imdiately saw her standing against the light and shadows.

In that mont, Nora looked like Poseidon descending upon the land.

"Waking up at this hour, are you hungry? Have sothing warm first."

As he spoke, Jasper walked toward her.

Nora’s movents were a beat slow as she pondered how to bring up yesterday’s events.

He seed to... know nothing at all?

Without waiting for a response, Jasper took Nora’s hand, placed the cup in it, and added, "Don’t look so sullen. Are you mad at ? When did you arrive last night?"

After speaking, he toyed with her mouth, using his thumbs to pull a grimace more hideous than a smile.

Nora really couldn’t bring herself to smile, so she slapped Jasper’s hand away and gulped down half the cup of milk.

"I’m not angry, it’s just that there are things I need to clarify, and I don’t know where to start."

Jasper rubbed the back of her hand, pulled her to sit on the small sofa, and patiently said, "Take your ti and say it one piece at a ti. I’m here, not going anywhere."

"Was Peach Bell with you yesterday?"

"I drank last night, and she drove back," Jasper answered truthfully.

However, his mory stopped there.

"I ca here at dawn, and she was coming out of your room, her clothes a bit disheveled."

This ti, it was Jasper’s turn to be flustered.

A hint of forbidden color appeared in his eyes.

"Nothing happened between and her. If you rember, did you notice my clothes hadn’t been changed?"

This questioning explanation was rather weak, and Jasper couldn’t help feeling dispirited after he finished.

Nora rarely saw him so lacking in confidence and couldn’t help but smile a little, her expression finally softening.

"I believe you, when I saw you, there wasn’t even a wrinkle on your shirt."

"I’ll have the driver pick up Peach and have her explain this to you with ."

"No need to trouble yourself, let’s just leave it in the past."

The reason Nora felt downcast all night had more to it.

Peach deliberately acted like she had been wronged, did she have another motive?

Nora sat by the floor-to-ceiling window for hours, and late at night, she suddenly realized that the view outside directly faced the entrance of the estate.

In other words, from the first step she took into this house, she was already in Bianca Bell’s line of sight.

Of course, these were rely her speculations.

Nora hesitated, pondering whether to tell Jasper everything word for word.

Yet there was a voice within her that resisted.

She worried that revealing Peach’s true colors might spark unusual emotions in Jasper.

The latter considered Peach a comfort to Mr. Sinclair, but Peach had let everyone down.

If Jasper figured out the whole context, he would certainly be distressed by it.

Nora underwent a fierce internal struggle and ultimately chose not to disclose more of the truth.

Not just for Jasper’s sake, but also to give Peach a chance to turn over a new leaf, hoping the young girl would retreat when faced with difficulties and not ruin the last bit of hope she left in others’ minds.

As Nora remained silent for a prolonged period, Jasper assud she was still frustrated and racked his brains on how to resolve the matter.
