Late night.

Nora Northwood curled up in the quilt, tossing and turning, her mind filled with Raina Sinclair’s heartfelt confessions.

The little drowsiness that Jasper Sinclair had was quickly worn away by her tossing.

Finally, he gave up on the idea of sleeping.

"Honey."

Hearing the voice behind her, Nora responded with a slight "hmm" and asked him, "Why aren’t you asleep yet?"

Jasper’s mind automatically skipped over her question and asked in return, "Are you still awake because sothing is on your mind?"

Soon, Nora realized it was her own fault for waking him up, so she apologized and explained, "I was thinking about Aunt Raina and Mr. Stewart. Don’t you feel like he doesn’t seem very fond of Aunt Raina?"

How could Jasper not have already figured out what she could foresee?

In the darkness, the man turned her shoulders so they faced each other.

He answered, "Stellar Enterprises accepted help from the Sinclair Family, which ans Austin Stewart’s status will be lower. In this era where n and won are inherently unequal, do you think he can feel good about it?"

As if awakened from a dream, Nora finally understood the aning behind Raina Sinclair’s words.

So, "the indelible rift" referred to this.

After a mont of silence, Nora let out a silent sigh; she was montarily unable to refute.

Wasn’t she the sa way back then?

She always thought accepting help from the Sinclair Family made her lesser than Jasper Sinclair.

Thoughts like these lingered until she transferred fifty million to Jasper’s private account, which sowhat dissipated her feelings.

Feeling the change in the person beside him, Jasper changed his position and pulled her into his embrace.

His broad palm enveloped her fingers, the slight calluses gently rubbing, "Aunt Raina feels helpless about it but can do nothing; she’s just stuck waiting."

"Poor lovers."

"You feel sorry for them, why doesn’t anyone feel sorry for ?"

Nora knew he was referring to past events. Without waiting for him to finish, she pulled her hand out from under the quilt and placed a finger on his lips.

Then, she deliberately warned with mock sternness, "No bringing up old scores, let the past stay in the past."

"I can’t move on; I insist on bringing it up, just as you empathize with Aunt Raina, you can empathize with how I felt then."

Jasper was persistent, needing a reasonable explanation, as if he had reached a dead end.

Ultimately, Nora apologized for her stubbornness in their little battle.

Listening to her reluctant apology, the man couldn’t help but let out a light chuckle, originally very subtle with a trace of lazy tiredness, but in this night, it was magnified infinitely.

Nora only felt a tingling itch spread from her fingertips, wanting to retract her hand, but he wouldn’t give her the chance.

Jasper leaned forward slightly, his warm breath sliding down her swan-like neck.

In the bedroom, there was a dim beam of light from the crescent moon filtering through layers of thin gauze.

The smile in Jasper’s eyes fell into her pupils, no longer an indifferent laugh.

"In the future, don’t bring up divorce again, no matter the past or future, just don’t ntion it."

"I promise." She agreed, extending her neck to leave a gentle kiss on the corner of his lips.

Soone wanted to deepen this kiss, but Nora dodged, "Tomorrow morning, we have to join grandma for breakfast, can’t be late."
