Elaine stepped out of the car with a crisp and neat look, the curve of her mouth impeccable.
Dozens of eyes all fell on her alone; even so, her steps remained composed and calm, possessing an inherent elegance.
"No wonder she’s Master Elaine, she’s dazzling."
"Almost fifty and still maintaining this state, she’s truly a beauty!"
"..."
Praises echoed at the exhibition site, journalists eager to thrust their caras at Elaine’s face.
She kept her eyes forward, the serene atmosphere surrounding her as she headed towards Nora Northwood amidst the crowd’s gaze.
"Master Elaine is coming over!" Lily Sloan bead with excitent, patting Nora Northwood’s shoulder as though witnessing sothing extraordinary.
Jasper Sinclair noticed from afar, feeling puzzled at how close Aunt Hutchinson and Nora Northwood seed to have beco.
Others might not realize Elaine’s intentions, but he was clear as day; she was undoubtedly paving the way for Nora Northwood’s exposure.
Setting aside his doubts, he prepared to go over and greet Elaine, and chat a bit with Nora Northwood about recent events.
Lately, Jasper Sinclair had been suffering from severe insomnia, thinking day and night about the root cause.
Even now, he still couldn’t understand what Nora Northwood was conflicted about.
When he finally managed to approach, Nora Northwood was led away by Vincent Morgan to et soone else.
Jasper Sinclair ca up empty.
Elaine called to him, "Jasper, long ti no see." She said, her gaze lingering intriguingly on him.
The man stopped his steps, politely greeting her: "Aunt Hutchinson, how have you been lately?"
Since the hospital eting, they hadn’t contacted each other.
"Sa as always, after all, I’m getting older, and my spirits have waned."
Jasper Sinclair’s mood dimd as Nora Northwood left, but he remained courteous in conversation with Elaine, without a trace of impropriety from top to bottom.
"When did Aunt Hutchinson start joking about herself?"
The words caused Elaine to pause for a mont; in the past, she would never have said such things, much less admitted her own aging.
Won fear aging.
Elaine was no exception.
She switched to a serious tone and said again, "Indeed, I’m losing strength, planning to retire early."
They exchanged a few more humorous words, Elaine’s gaze shifting, never leaving Nora Northwood’s direction, prompting her to ask: "What’s going on between you two?"
"It’s a long story, this isn’t the place to talk, I’ll find ti to chat with you another day."
"There’s no grudge between spouses overnight, go talk to Nora."
"Alright, excuse for a mont." Jasper Sinclair flashed a grateful smile, expressed his thanks word by word, his breathing becoming more serious.
As he approached, he overheard Vincent Morgan’s mother speaking rudely to Nora Northwood: "It’s not easy for a flower shop seller to climb to such heights, Miss Northwood should hold tight to the Sinclair Family tree."
"Mrs. Morgan is fond of joking, my achievents are due to my own efforts, not sothing to be dismissed by a word or two."
Nora Northwood feigned a smile, having participated in many similar occasions, becoming better at "acting," always keeping up appearances no matter the ti.
"I’m not interested in whether you’ve worked hard, I’m concerned about whether, as a married woman, you should mind your boundaries."
"If you have sothing to say, do speak it plainly."
"I can tell Finn has so admiration for you; he’s young and naive, but you must have boundaries—the Morgan Family door isn’t open to you."
