Before long, a bottle of white wine was placed on the table in front of them.

Jasper Sinclair poured Nora Northwood a glass. "Try it and see what kind of wine it is?"

He knew that Nora had a fairly good understanding of wines.

The person who was planning to down the wine in one gulp squinted upon hearing this, and held the glass with one hand, motioning in mid-air, "Let’s toast."

"Clink—"

The glasses collided, making a crisp sound.

Nora savored the wine carefully, the ten-centiter-diater of the glass covering her charming face.

Once she reappeared from behind the glass, she comnted, "Hints of peach and pogranate fragrance in the floral aroma, smooth on the palate, dancing on the tip of the tongue, it must be Chardonnay."

"Your wine tasting skills haven’t slipped at all. Your observations and guesses are spot on. This bottle of white wine is from a winery in Bordenia."

Soone basking in praise almost had her tail wagging up to the sky.

Contrary to her excitent, Jasper’s deanor was relatively indifferent, not showing any emotions.

After consuming half the bottle, Nora felt that the person before her was starting to sway slightly.

Jasper, worried she might drink too much, tily removed the glass from her hand. "You still need to buy gifts for your friends tomorrow, best not to overdo it."

"It’s okay to indulge once in a while, give back the glass."

With a hint of intoxication, she argued and snatched the goblet back from the man’s hand with a string of quirky logic.

People are inherently rebellious; the more you forbid them, the more they want to do it.

The neon lights shone on Nora, illuminating her uplifted smile and the enjoynt in her eyes.

Jasper didn’t bother arguing with her anymore; after all, work had recently caused her too much stress, and it wasn’t a bad idea to take this chance to relax.

Once the entire bottle of white wine was finished, the two of them stood up, ready to return to the hotel.

The alcohol had numbed Nora’s nerves, allowing her to temporarily forget the troubles and chaos of the outside world.

Approaching midnight.

Shops on either side of the street had closed, the dim streetlights and moonlight intertwined and rged, a few scattered pedestrians, their elongated shadows cast on the ground.

"Darling, why are there so many people on the ground?" Nora’s steps were nearly disorderly, staggering back and forth, almost falling several tis.

"You’ve had too much." Jasper stayed close by her side at all tis, worried she might inadvertently kiss the cobblestone path.

"Do you love ?"

Nora leaned over, her whole body hanging on him, her petite hand clutching his shirt collar.

"I love Nora, let’s go back to the hotel and have so sobering tea, alright?"

"No way, I’m not drunk."

Jasper’s voice, as if coaxing a child, overflowed with gentleness.

As they passed under the bridge, the weaker lighting made Nora’s steps even more unsteady.

What would normally take about ten minutes was forcibly stretched into half an hour.

As they entered the hotel, Nora stumbled.

Fortunately, Jasper had been watching her closely and swiftly caught her shoulder, preventing any accidents this ti.

The receptionist at the hotel gave them an ambiguous look, carrying indescribable implications.

Jasper practically carried her into the elevator, pressing the button for their floor.

Due to the alcohol, Nora’s face appeared even redder than usual, under the incandescent elevator lights, her eyes glistened.

Jasper’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he shifted his gaze away from her face, planning to settle tonight’s account once they were back in the room.
