Flash Marriage: She becomes Mrs. CEO after the Failed Dowry Talk Chapter 392: Not Worth Mentioning
"Let him have it." Jasper Sinclair gave the result indifferently.
She couldn’t believe what she heard about letting go of a project with millions in profit.
She struggled to argue, "President Sinclair, our research team has invested nearly a month in this project."
"I don’t do losing deals. There’s no need to bring this up again; we can cut off Liam Jacobs."
Lila had many doubts, but didn’t have the courage to inquire further, and quietly locked Liam’s contact in the blacklist.
She hesitated for a bit and then brought it back out; the drama hadn’t reached its final act.
She sent a ssage over, "Do you have ti to grab dinner tonight?"
She thought: This might be the last al of their professional careers together.
She quickly received a reply, "Wouldn’t miss it for the world."
Evening, the western restaurant.
Liam Jacobs’ profile was reflected in the glass window, the empty table, and the occasional passing waiter, all appearing in the reflection.
He was fiddling with his phone, "Tonight, I must find out their startup capital."
Only Rachel Woodward could make him speak in such a low, servile tone.
He was tapping furiously on the keyboard when suddenly, a graceful silhouette appeared at the seat opposite him.
"What are you looking at? So engrossed!"
Lila, with all her charm, attracted the gaze from several surrounding tables. Unlike her work deanor, she had dressed up especially tonight.
Liam, guilty as a thief, turned off his phone screen, not daring to look her in the eye.
"I recently discovered a ga, just passing ti out of boredom."
"I thought you’d be eagerly waiting for ." Lila said sothing ambiguous.
Of course, she was just saying it without any other intention.
When the dishes arrived, Liam turned the conversation to work, "The AI dical project is nearly finalized, right? The project lead says if we win the bid successfully, the whole team will profit."
Lila knowingly, yet casually, revealed, "Not necessarily. To be honest, President Sinclair hasn’t allocated much startup capital for this project."
At this point, Liam beca even more enthusiastic, "How could that be? Anyone with a brain would know it’s a profitable project!"
"President Sinclair thinks so; we underlings wouldn’t dare refute."
With that, Lila smiled a bit, her smile carrying a hint of inconspicuous satire.
Preoccupied with figuring out how to extract information, Liam didn’t notice that tiny change.
He continued, "Logically speaking, five million in startup capital should be enough to run, President Sinclair shouldn’t care about such a small sum."
"It’s indeed only a drop in the bucket, but the internal ssage seems to say it’s less than one million."
Less than a million... Liam silently morized this number; it was the sole purpose of the dinner tonight.
He didn’t dare show it too plainly and stopped probing further, unaware that he’d exposed his secondary identity from the very start.
Lila, still unsatisfied, teased him, "Isn’t your expertise in photography operations? Why the sudden interest in AI technology?"
A seemingly ordinary question made Liam break into a cold sweat quietly.
"The more skills, the less the pressure; carrying a cara daily doesn’t earn big money. Now with advanced AI technology, maybe I have a bit of scientific potential, hoping to take a share."
"The recruitnt standard for research institutes requires a PhD minimum, and they only select from internal staff. I advise you to give up this idea early, or only your ti will be wasted."
