For the next week, Nora spent more ti with Bailey than with Jasper.

So, he hoped that these two girls, who were about the sa age, could get along peacefully without any drama.

As they left the exhibition hall, the sky outside darkened, like a deep blue velvet draped over people’s heads.

The evening breeze crawled around Nora’s waist, lifting a corner of her dress.

Jasper naturally took off his coat and placed it over her, "Be careful not to catch cold."

In the end, she couldn’t prevent it and did catch a cold, but that’s another story.

The two got back into the car one after the other, the car lights pierced through the night, driving through the bustling avenue, heading towards the hotel.

This trip abroad was ant to uncover the truth from ten years ago, but unexpectedly, both personal and professional matters piled together, weighing Jasper down.

He was anxious to wrap up the etings in France, shortening the trip one more ti, and still needed to go back to lbourne.

Thinking this, he said to Nora, "For the next few days, I’ll be quite busy and might not have much ti to accompany you. Bailey will keep you company shopping, and after the etings, we’ll have to return to lbourne."

"Alright."

Nora didn’t have any objections; she was in a foreign country, entirely following Jasper’s plans.

When they arrived at the restaurant, the deep blue sky had beco even darker.

"Boss, the restaurant is at the top floor, and it’s all booked."

On the top floor, besides the two diners, there was only the team of chefs.

Nora asked him, "Why book a whole floor?"

"Too noisy with too many people."

Jasper’s response was only a brief four words, not a word more.

In fact, he wanted to say this was an apology for the wedding drama.

The restaurant had a great view; from top to bottom it was a hundred ters high, allowing a view of much of Vaeloria.

The violin concerto had already started, the scent of Magnolia Bell spread throughout the spacious floor, Nora was taken aback, realizing this was no ordinary dinner.

"Relax a bit, Nora."

Jasper’s hands landed on her shoulders, helping her take off the wind-resistant coat.

In the few seconds of hanging up the coat, Nora was already clear about it in her heart; she asked outright, "Is this an apology?"

"The apology cos a bit late, don’t mind it."

An apology for an imperfect wedding, it felt... too grand.

Her lips twitched slightly, and after a mont, she softly opened her lips, "We’ve been married for a year, there’s no need for such extravagance. I’ve received your apology, and I will forgive you."

Even if I don’t forgive, what difference would it make?

To enhance the dining atmosphere, the lights on the entire floor were adjusted to a dim hue.

At this ti, under the shadow of the lights, Nora’s emotions found a hiding place.

Jasper stood still, racking his brains on how to respond to her words.

He knew this wasn’t over; his beloved Nora was holding a grudge against him, but the subtlety of her resentnt left him feeling like he was punching cotton, powerless.

He’d rather Nora scream and shout, even curse or hit him; anything would be better than her apathetically saying "extravagance" and "I will forgive." Those weren’t the words he wanted to hear.

In his helpless confusion, Nora stepped back, her waist against the chair back.

Then, she looked at the chefs not far away, about to speak, only to forget she wasn’t in her ho country, where many couldn’t understand her language.
